[MREL] Reskinned Default Kar98k

Here, I reskinned most of it but got lazy and left things such as the site etc D: dont kill me. Also the scope is extremely half assed because I got bored. SKINNING AT 256x256 IS HARD WORK :(

no offence but im getting tired of the defualt model when will some one come out with a diffrent kar model other ls3,and that other one that must not be named!
well at least try sking the bayoless one that is in dodec im not a fan of bayos btw its looks alright

there are so many models of other weapons y not kars? ive seen like 3-4 diffrent kar models
defualt,ls3,Vctrmaster(yuck) those are the main branches sub branches contains new animations, new skins, or high res basically a modern kar look like either the default or ls3. 90% percent of those are defaults which i am getting tired of seeing..
its just like eating candy first its all good but after u consume alot ull end of hating it.. or drugs for that matter after a while you would prob want something stronger and better.
im not saying your skin sux or anything im just getting this monkey of my back

Also, the reason I skinned it is because it is a challenge. Anybody can make 512x512 custom meshes look good, but to make 256x256 default DoD meshes look good, now THAT is a challenge :D

here you go, scroll down a lil'

the scoped kar got some scope texture bug.


anyway, the scope texture was recolored in ps.
the wood is some perfect kar wood i found in tekobra's pack.
and the metals are yours, i gave them more darkness in PS, that's all.
sleeves are dillinger's axis camo sleeves, hottest thing around :-)
and the gloves are dillinger's gloves V2 recolored/reskined by me.

Perfect kar ?

Didn't marzy's enhanced K98 have hi res meshes? or was that his Garand...or neither? =P

Vctrmaster's model was great, just had HORRIBLE mesh =P

if that's what you mean than... well yeah it's a little problem, i requested marzy to try and fix it though you can always use the default scoped kar model which is not so far from it.

The top metal does not resemble the metal on the side which it should. Why is everyone putting gloves on every model, make both versions, not everyone wants gloves.

Hey all, I made the maps darker and the wood darker, it didn't take much effort lol. I'll just post the meshes but you have to go into hlmv and change them yourselves!! :p

I particulary enjoy the metal on this KAR 98k, my only suggestion would be to change the wood style a bit. Other than that, it looks superb.

Where do you see gloves in the release ?
It's my kar version, it was not released, also... gloves are nice and besides it takes 5 sec to replace gloves with dod1 hands so what's the big deal ?

Not everyone wants to have to take '5 sec' to replace the gloves on every model. I don't want to argue with you...arguments on forums just become rediculous stalemates in which the 'elites' tear any outsiders to shreds and claim victory regardless of who makes the more legitimate point(s).

Yes... as i said, it's just my default model edit, he never released the model with gloves.

Besides, a Release is your work of art, you choose how to make it, of course you have a public, but 2 mb of webspace and time against 5 sec of getting rid of gloves... go figure, i won't get that extra webspace for it.

also, i happen to edit/filter every model that comes into my computer :P, changing textures, recoloring, changing submodels... etc, so decompiling the model is like the first thing i do.

about the other part of your post... well... ?! you are welcome to argue, that's what forums are made for, im not here to patronazie you and look on you from above, not me.

if you do not know how to change textures and stuff just ask for it... very easy.

BTW, you are right about not releasing with gloves and stuff in big releases when it goes online to some nice hosting sites, but in this forums it's a kinda small community so afaik 90% of the guys here know how to edit and as i said above, if not... they can ask.
