Brittish D-Day

Sorry if any1 has posted about this b4, and even more sorry to any mapper who has made any of these maps b4...

i would love to c a Brittish beach landing map from either Gold or Sword beaches: the bluff wouldn't be nearly as high as any of the previous Omaha beach dod maps, and most of the defending would be in the coastal towns, rather few concrete installations.

if the Brittish airborne were introduced into DoD then an op pegasus map would b nice, also the battle for Ouistreham i reckon would make a fantastic map, a fight in a French city before moving to Caen a month or so later.

a Utah beach map would be alright too, but im not sure if any1 would want to do one.

I'm making a pegasus bridge map, some minor bugs still, but it's finished for 99% except for the bridge itself, and I still don't have a releasedate just because I don't have a texture artist found yet who wants to texture the bridge so as long as I don't have one, no pegasus bridge map from me :/

Technically that is what Anzio is, but the mapper chose to keep the US soldiers in it even after the British were added to DOD.

nono, US troops fought in anzio and anzio has nothing to do with D-Day

i'm pretty sure that the guy who made charlie and overlord originally made a utah map, i could be mistaken though

Also caen used to have americans, so there shouldn't be a problem with having a slightly innacurate team on a map

It would be interesting at least, yes. On an unrelated note, these belong in the Map Suggestions Thread.

It would be nice to have a Brit Sword map, but HL1 can't handle big sprawling areas, and I beleive that Sword was reasonably flat.

Oh and you'd have to stick the "FUNNIES" in on a Brit beach map- these were mine-clearing tank type things which the Americans didn't use. They part of the major success that we (the British) gained at our sectors... Maybe you could have a "defend the Funnies" but that would be unrealistic to have the Germans coming down on to the beach..
