Keep in mind that I havent really looked around at the 1.0 info threads, but I do remember seeing Waldo post pics on the new versions a little while ago (with the censored gun.. something like that).. what happened?
nope. It was dropped.
Maybe Waldo releases it as a custom map? :-)

The playtesting team at Valve did not enjoy hedgerow, even after Waldo's major refit of the project. It was dropped so that the other better maps could be kept. :)
I hope Waldo's going to release it as a custom map. :D

Yeah, it was a good idea, and the new screens looked sweet, just needed a bit more work in the gameplay area I thought. In any case, Andy's map dod_campagne (which I basically am advertising for free), is an awesome hedgerows map, play it when it comes out.

Indeed, it will not be in 1.0.
I'm playing around with a tighter version right now. Not quite as extensive, fewer paths, plus some more interesting looks. Maybe I'll slip it out some time for somem public feedback!

Yea I've seen a few screens of Andy's map. Looks good indeed!

I second that! The latest pics he showed me looked mighty awesome!!
can't wait my clan and myself enjoyed that map, we used it for pratice alot matched on it twice hope to see it soon.

I didn't realize there was this much excitement about my map! The new 1.0 features will certainly make it even better - with the model trees I will finally be able to use a lot more trees. Blowing stuff up should be more fun - you'll be able to choose either satchels or bazookas (but no panzerschrecks for the bridges, that would just be silly). Just have to wait for 1.0 to come out so I can implement the new stuff :)
Check out dodmaps.com soon...there should be some pics there.
Yeah, I do have to say I didn't care for the para_hedgerow that much, but I'm sure ur newest version I will love! :)

Andy: Dod_campagne really looks good :)
i enjoyed hedgerow alot cause there was alot of teamwork when i joined a server.. so ill miss it :( but i am looking forward to the new 1.0 maps so thats always a plus, gotta lose something to gain something i guess :p

I liked hedgerow's atmosphere, but not it's gameplay. Sneaking around for a couple of minutes to get ambushed by someone hiding in the greenery then waiting for the round to end wasn't the ideal way to play the map. I'd love to play it now that we can respawn.

the newer (and unreleased) dod_hedgerow >> the older para_hedgerow.

I guess the old one was too newb-unfriendly, eh. Poor small brain, too much ways to get to the targets. And itīs dark as well! Newbies wont be able to move along without being ambushed. Oh noes, letīs make DoD_Box official.
Releasage as custom map would be nice.

Noooooooooooo, I love para_hedgerow as it is! The darkness is awesome cos it really feels like a night time mission, the multiple paths keep it tense since you've always got to be on your toes, and the single respawn makes you feel like a true paratrooper. Only thing I'd want changed is more realistic foliage and terrain.

Andy's map does look great - looking forward to playing it.
I will patiently wait for Waldo's hedgerow to make it's return!!
