Can you please load it to filefront too ? Any download from edgefiles won't work for me lately ;[
Does the zip have an iron-sighted version or something? I'd love to have an iron sight version of it for normal kar. Haha. Strange as it may be.

Yeah, the two links on edge files are not working for me either, filefront is the one i always use..Im sure it will be up there sooner or later..
Good Job on this Ikuj, looks fantastic!

U can download it from Filefront just click on the link at the bottom of the page...
I have to warn you though, there seems to be a problem in game, the lens is completely gone...
Have you told ikujinonai about the problem?
btw, I also found another problem. Half of the gun and player arms are "eaten" by the player cam. Like faces are missing, etc. It's like your clipping into the gun and player arms during a reload. Dunno if it's the model or something about 1.1b

I found that opening up the model with HLMV, and ticking the transparent box under textures gave me my lens back...although not see through right enough, but it will do until the problem, whatever it is, is fixed.

Yeah, sorry if there are any bugs. Steam does not work for me at all and I haven't been able to play DoD since 1.1. Hence, I can't really test/fix this model. It looked fine in HLMV, though.
In any case, the lens.bmp texture should be in additive transparency mode. I don't know what changed in 1.1 but obviously something's wrong with the model.
I just really wanted to get this out to the public since it'd be kind of rude to WIP something and not release. :\
If someone could post a screen of the missing faces/transparency problems I'll try to fix it if I can. Again, I have been unable to play DoD for quite some time so I don't have the chance to test it out in-game.

its not a problem of the transparency, my friend and i are on it :)

the 'Additive' setting makes it transparent.
link here (http://www.jedinights.com/jbf/donnerbugs.jpg) lol found it in the 1.1 bug forums.. the person just happened to be using the same k98 i beleive :D
Aye, that's me. That only shows the missing scope lense.
Here's image of the messed up faces or whatever.

btw, you can also see that the hands' shading groups arn't working for some reason... You can see the individual faces, etc. Anyway, just so you can see. Hopefully you can fix this, cause I love your rendition of it. I can't wait to see a fixed up release... if not, I'll still use the normal version. Hopefully though we can get the iron-sighted version with the transperant scope working eventually. :D

That is ****ed up.
Ikujinonai: origin numbers? pleaseplease :o
Otacon
12-02-2003, 09:52 PM
the problem has to do with the origins. I tried to IS an M4 in CS, and it looked fine in HLMV, but ingame I had the same problem with parts disappearing. Not sure how you'd go about fixing it though =P

If the hands have there own SMD file, then try loading them into milshape, and using smooth all on them, see if that sorts them out.
Editor321
12-03-2003, 09:23 AM
they dont have a hands smd
MaRzY
12-03-2003, 09:51 AM
I'm thinking there part of the reference SMD then, what you could try doing, is loading up the reference file, and deleting everything bar the hands, also delete all the textures except the hands texture. Then try using smooth all, and if it sorts the problem out, then save these hands with the bones included as a hands smd file. Now import the original reference file again, and this time just delete the hands and hand texture. Then import your new hands smd file, but only the tringles and not the bones, this will keep the hands assingned to the correct bones, then just save it all back out as the reference file.
Any new updates on this model? :D

I was bored.
This only took about 10 minutes.
I started with MaRzYs K98, copied the faces making up the lenses to a new group and deleted the old faces then I mapped the new group it to the crosshair lens texture. Then I made the scope polygons double sided, so you can see the inside of them. Compiled, then it HLMV made the lens texture additive
End result:

I do like that Grain, looks good...:), did you make all the scope polygons double sided, because if so, you could just make the scope polygons you can see double sided, to make it a bit more efficient.

i wont be using it, im giving him advice, so that his model is popular. you ppl will say anything looks good, ive seen seom crap and all the replies saw gw, and awsome job etc. i go for the best of the best my simple minded friend, this model 'could' be the best, to bad to... really liked the scope
your the only one that really seems to care that much :-\ plus it is already released..

You know those are default animations right. As in the default Kar model uses the exact same ones. And therefore about 90% of all Kar releases. Also there is no such thing as a "sway" animation.

dude.... play with the default sniper, then play with that one, the default sways about the place, and that one doesnt move an inch likes its bolted to ground, it feels like ur sliding around the map on a cart, and ur gun is bolted to a stand and the wheels make footstep sounds, thats how stupid it feels

And btw, thx for the scope fix, was driving me crazy
