The model is made by Trigger, it's based off that old Russian trooper he made with the body armor. I just assigned everything and compiled it. Cos of the new anim blending it won't work in 1.1, only 1.0. But I'll release it just the same for anyone using 1.0 here. Pretty much all the gear is similar to these two (the Tommygun/PPSh and the Garand/Mosin) so I just took this pic. Comments?

Not so bad for the first player model I ever made (when was that, two years ago?). You were wise not to use the head that came with it, fugly.

The camo looks a bit odd. Were Russian Paratroopers even used in paratrooper raids or were they used like Fallschirmjaegers, just as a good title and never used. I know Uncle Joe didn't like the idea of not being able to control his paratrooper divisions if they were behind the lines.

The Soviets did use paratroopers in numerous combat drops from what I've heard, however, five minutes of searching resulted in nothing but a picture of Soviet paratroopers decending after a jump. Also, Fallshirmjagers were used in combat drops, though not very often after Crete.

The texture was the first that I ever did, so it ain't great, but the pattern is fairly close. I can't be insulted though, it does suck...

*cries*

They were used, but they mostly just jumped off the wings of ground hugging planes into soft snow. As a result, the Germans liked to paint hard, rocky fields white like snow.

Need's a lot more detail, like backpacks and fold, etc.

Actually, they just look really funny in that suit, reminds me of my old pajamas. :D

Oops. They do have a backpack. /slaps forehead.

I seriously love the effort you put into making this skin, but the Vietcong-style PJ's just kinda puts me off a bit. :D Sorry.

Yeah, cept those PJ's are what they wore. Some of em wore body armor, but it wouldn't look so good with the body armor.
