trigger_sandbag and func_water
Hi folks,
it is possible to create a trigger_sandbag area within a func_water block? The engine tells me that there is an MG area but I cannot deploy my gun on the fountain's sidewall.

it should be completely possible, but are you sure you set yawn values of your trigger_sandbag to the side you wanna deploy to?
Yes, the aiming direction is set correctly (I'm mapping for HL since 1998 ;-), but I think there is no chance to combine both entities together...
Dev-Team, your statement?
making the entitys within the same area wouldn't matter if the trigger_sandbag was in the water then you couldn't use it cause your gun is hidden. on a fountains edge there shouldn't be a single problem. just try making your trigger area larger.
Hm...
That's not the problem, 'cos the fountain's water height won't force the player to hide his weapon. You're not swimming but standing right in the water.
As long as water covers the trigger_sandbag brushs they won't work. Removing the water from the fountain will make them work as they should. I've tried to make the trigger_sandbag brushs higher, so that their topface is over the water, but this didn't work, too.
I think the func_water entity is stronger than simple trigger entities and suppress them well. And if this is true, I have no chance at all :D

why not....
Have the water... and then the func_sangbag above the water a sliver... try that...
You cannot conbine them ... and I do not believe you can deploy your weapon while within water...
Unless this is some under water map :D

Arghhhh :D
You're right... I'll try to place the sandbag fields above the water.

No chance, but this doesn't matter anyway! Make the water to a func_illusionary with empty content and that's the way it goes. The surface is still water by the !-texture and now I can deploy my gun.
As long as "real" water is produced by the engine, it suppresses most other entities to work (like in normal HL, too).
Ok, thx a lot for your support.
