Flash Bug fixed in 1.1?

Before the flames start flying, I just searched for “Flash, Bug*” before I posted this. There doesn’t seem to be any answers to my questions.

I know that there has been a lot of talk and suggestions on how to “fix” or “deal with” the flash bug. I have tried them all; stopsound, join spec first, don’t use the mouse when making selections, join allies first, etc. None of them have worked. I just have a few questions about the problem:

1. Has the real source/cause of the problem been identified?
2. Is it OS related? I use win XP pro.
3. Is it server related?
4. Has it been fixed in 1.1?

Please help. I really enjoy the map, but have a difficult time playing it.

PS. I posted this in the Maps forum because I thought the mapmakers would be better suited to answer it (because you don’t want the problem with your maps…cough...CR44…cough..RR2). Please feel free to move it to support, general, whatever. But please help a guy out with a response.

Well I would expect so because it is such a well known bug, cant give you a definate answer though.

Also maybe the 1.1 MG42 will slow that map down a bit :rolleyes:

I dunno but instead of docking up opus in your sig you should just take the strip where he gets the pistol from the nra and it bounces around and bill ends up with his guts all over the wall. :)

This bug does occur in other maps as well sometimes, but predominantly occurs when playing Flash.

wow...100+ reads. Guess I touched on a solid subject. But no solid answers :( (Thanks to those who did reply.)

Well, I guess I understand not knowing if it is fixed (find out soon enough),....but how about a "This is what causes it..."

Has anyone identified the actual cause yet? Even if it was fixed, I am still interested in the cause.

Come on all you map makers, we know you all talk?

Most of us cannot really say, it's a coding thing. Same with the breakable respawn issue (that was fixed). I wonder if that funky part of Zalec that I pointed out when 1.0 came out has been fixed...guess I'll have to check it out. But I don't recall seeing the cause/solution for the flash join problem.

I believe it has been fixed. I think it was related to the thing where breakables would not be solid (like in Zalec). That bugs's been fixed. We'll see if it fixes Flash I guess.

Looks like the bug is gone. I joined 5 different servers without a problem.

Nice job with 1.1. Just a few things I don't like, but will add them to the many "bug/I hate this" threads.
