seeing as the search engine lags the forum up if you enter 3 letter words searches its set to only look for 4 letter words.

This can make it a bit of a pain whilst looking for 'Kar' or 'Bar' or 'k43' models. So we should make a thread for people to submit there kar, k43 and bar skins in and get a mod to sticky it to take the hassle out of looking for them.

That would certainly help, however, for all the current submitted models that exist in Releases, it would be quite a task moving all the threads into a new set of Stickies, and invariably, someone who had submitted something recently, would end up complaining that their model was hidden away in a Sticky that no one looks at anyway. Mind you, that might change if it became widespread knowledge that this was the way we were running things from now on, for models such as these, but that would take time and wouldnt happen "overnight".

The very nature of the subject material covered, would suggest it needed to be a Sticky within the Releases sub-section, rather than a Sticky that was simply set up in the General MSA section.

Tbh, I think people prefer having a single big Releases sub-section to post within, no matter what the model or skin is, as they perceive it to give "better coverage" than being tucked away in a Sticky.

I'm not sure. I'm not totally dismissing the idea,as it most certainly would help in searching for the likes of these short model names, but I would need to suggest it to the rest of the Web team first, to see what they thought of it.

How about just letting those words in to the search engine?

it would lag the forums though, the search engine wasn't well written when it comes to high bandwidth so even though the admins could set it to 3 it would lag the site alot.

Although maybe they could make a directory activated by 'popular' 3 letter words like 3.1 or kar etc
