When i make a hedge and test it in game after compile and all the top of the hedge is black the part in hammer thats blue. I figure that the hedge has to be against a sky so that it can be transparant but what if i want the hedge in the middle of the map. For example in campagne where theres hedges all over is behind each hedge a peice of sky so that the hedge becomes transparant. In my map i want a block of hedge and make a tunnel through it, like in campagne. Can someone tell me how to fix this black stuff on the top of hedge and proper ways to make hedges, such as what entities to tie it to and such.

move the headge 1 unit down

you need to tie the hedge brush to a func_wall or func_illusionary and set its Fx amount to 255 and the blue will be come transperant.

Try this:
Func_wall/func_illusionary
render mode: solid
Fx amount: 255
Should do the trick...
