I'm sure this question has been asked many times here, but I can't seem to find the answer after browsing through a few pages here.
So, the question is... will any of the old custom maps work in DoD v1.0?
I have a few favourites like dod_cr44_b3 which I would like to play in the new version. However, I remember that the last update of DoD (3.1?) broke compatibility with most if not all custom maps, so I'm wondering if the same thing will happen again.
Why don't I test it myself? Unfortunately, I can't - DoD v1.0 seems to crash every time I try to run a server on my own machine here at home (and that's just on the maps that came with v1.0). I can't load any map without crashing, so I can't test it! The new version of DoD worked fine for me at my workplace though (which is where I play anyway).
If old maps will NOT work in v1.0, is there anything that users can do to convert them for 1.0 use, or do we have to wait and hope that custom mappers will update their old maps for the new version?
I think I'll make a DoD map or two myself, once there is full and official support for Half-Life editing in GtkRadiant :D
