here's a itty-bitty non-playable map...just has a few particle entities in it: A green smoke grenade and steam coming from a pipe. I'm working on a tutorial map that has that and a bunch of breakables too...gimmie a few days.

hehe...I AM the CHia-Pet FD.

sure you can use it anyway you want...here's what I suggest you do...try different settings...like change the speed...or change the tabbed setting...like do one change...compile...see what the change did. Put it in a tiny test map so you can do fast compiles...or just use ripent to make the changes. I putzed around w/the color setting on the green smoke...btw...that green smoke is the same coding (cept green of course) as the smoke in Charlie.

And you don't need to credit me...have fun with them but remember...every entity you add adds to the gamers experience both good and bad...good in that it looks cool...bad in that it adds to frame rate and other lag-related things...i try and keep the particle stuff down as best I can per visual range of the player

for the life of me I can get it to appear in game. I have particle effects turned on, and I can see them in all the rotation maps. But all of the ones I compile (I tried with waldo's examples as well) nothing happens. For the redsmoke one the canister shows up, but no smoke coming out. It would be a great help if anyone knew how to solve this...

yes, I'm using the 1.0 fgd. This is the only thing that's been giving me problems, tried different ways to solve it, I think something really simple is just escaping me for some reason.

I had the same problem. In the process of fooling with console commands, I had cl_particlefx set to 1, when I set it to 2 everything worked.

my setting is at 2, I double checked. I even went into the cfg file and made sure it's at 2.

Try setting it to 3?
