This is a REVISED version of the dod gun penetrations.
This basically states how much brush a bullet can go through.
If any of you read the 3.1 version you will see the DRAMATIC change the MG's used to go through 34 units now they only go through 11.
Its usefull for playing and mapping. enjoy the file.

After somone made the commet "man i shot you through the door i swear" i realized 2 things. 1 admin mod wasnt working and 2 a thompson should of gone through that door." So i decided to re check how much the guns could go through. for having no changes to the guns the difference is really amazing.

From what I've heard, bullet penetration is now dependent upon material type rather than brush thickness.

Butthead: "huhuhuhuhu, he said unit."

I've realized I missed the FG42, and if it is dependant on materil The files gonna get a bit bigger. I'll go try both I'll post when I've got the results.

You mean 1 unit = 1 inch

1 unit in hammer is 1 pixel. Make the grid size 1 and each square is 1 pixel or 1 unit.

1 pixel = 1 VHE = 1 inch

FG42 added

NO material dosnt affect penatration.

That depends on what zoom level you are on.

Let's say I was on 0.25 zoom and git a unit to equal 1 pixel. But I could also be in 8.00 zoom where 1 unit would be much more than 1 pixel.

then why is it that i can hide behind a tank-trap on the beach in dod_charlie and be shielded from MG fire? i know those things aren't a foot thick.

this probably because :
1) it is a func_wall or an entity of that sort
and
2) his hedgehog clips are like mine and gives full protection without you even seeing it
and
3) because you might be very lucky that the aim of the person trying to get you sucks.

Thats why I said adjust grid size to 1. Zoom doesn't change how big 1 unit is.

Its probably like I mentioned in the notes:
-To make a wall impenetrable to any gun you simply use 2 brushes with a gap in-between, thickness of brushes or gap don't matter.

and entitys have the same penatration as a normal brush. cept for special ones like func_illusionary.
