Hey, man. I guess what you are in essence asking is "How can I change what the people/weapons look like in my game"

Well, you can and how you put it is correct, ONLY you see the changes. If you have some cool Axis skins like Devin's SSv4, only you see them, everyone else sees whatever they downloaded, or defeault.

If you mean how can you edit yourself, its easy. First of all I suggest using adobe photoshop, and downloading Half-Life Model Viewer (type it in on Yahoo, I forget the site address)

Then, open up a model in your old dod folder under sierra, switch to the textures screen, pick a texture (there are diffrent ones for each model) and choose the 'export' choice. Open it up in photoshop, change the mode to "RGB Color" edit it, and change it back. Save as a BMP and go back to HLMV.

Now choose 'import' and find your edited version, when you're all done, and satisfied with it, choose 'save model' and save it in you program files>steam>steamapps>your@email.com>

Then create this folder:

Half-life>dod>models (for guns)

Half-life>dod>models>player (for players)

with another folder for us-inf, axis-inf, brit-inf ect.

If what I'm saying makes no sence to you, take some time, go to the dod editing center, or Editor 321's website, read up on how to install skins, and use other people's custom models and skins first. Read some photoshop tutorials and try small recolors....Then get into the major stuff. It takes a while but its fun.

Welcome to the community! have fun! :D
