US-Para Skeletons

Hey all,
As you know I'm working hard on my player pack but I've encountered a major problem. The US Para has a different skeleton to the US Inf and hence I can't use one of my special features (not going to give it away). So I was wondering if anyone had made a US Para kit that uses the defualt skeleton instead of the para skel which has arms by it's sides? Note I must have a para on defualt skeleton otherwise I will have to get rid of my gorey suprise!

Okay I can get the model onto a default skin but it really dements the model SO I'm asking ANY person skilled in creating skeletons to contact me IMMEDIATELY about a job.

The skeletons are the same, just different positions of the arms, you can use the regular infantry and paratrooper skeletons interchangably with no problems.

Yeah but the problem is I have a custom skeleton which is similar to the default US Inf but has a few extra attachments. The US Para has the arms in another position and an attachment to the head. This screws things up with what I'm trying to do. I'll will try what you said mate but if I'm correct it will cause the arms to float all over the place.
Ohh and if u mean interchangably by simply swapping skeletons and moving the model's arms, it doesn't work too well (textures stretch and distort, some anims look wierd etc.)

I reorigined (sp?) the arms on a regular skeleton once by editing the values in the .smd with notepad... just open the .smd file with notepad and play with the numeric values until you get the arms in the right position... Or.. take not of the values for the arms on the us-inf skeleton, and edit the para skeleton values to match... Voila.. :)

No worries bro.. It's an awesome little trick that doesn't screw up the animations when it's compiled..

The Axis, FJ, Brits, Americans, and Paras all use the same animations even if their skeletons are different. I can decompile a Para model's animations and recompile an infantry reference with those anims even if the arms are in different positions.
