I was looking through the forums and felt bad that only a few people took interest in skinning any of cheetos excelent work that he did on the Russian Weapons Pack. I took it upon myself to attempt to skin his PPSh and I think its coming along rather nicely for a hackjob. The metal is a little rough but its all starting to come together...this is my first real attempt besides my commando weapons pack at weapon skinning. Let me know what you think.
|EDIT| Sorry, forgot the props to the people.

Model: Cheeto
Wood: Russ
Metal: Slinky(Im kinda sure on that one)
Messing the hell with these skins and model: Anderson

I''d drop the highlight on the barrel sleve, without a distinct light source to create it (i.e. the flash from a camera when taking a picture of it) it makes the barrel look bent. Your best bet is to contain strong highlights to sharp edges and curves.

Im falling in love with these new models and skinning them :) Ok, a few notes to people

Russ: The wood texture is off your folding carbine Russ....its probably unrecognizable because I added wear to it, and I hacked it up to hell and back to make it work with what the PPSh has. :)

Trigger: Im still new at skinning metal so getting highlights and stuff to line up is still a challenge for me, but progress continues.

Cheeto: New animations still in progress with you?

Thats all for now...more later :)

Updatey.....I fixed the barrel metal and am working on getting highlights to match up on the receiver and the rest of the gun. Also added gloves since it was kinda cold on the eastern front :)

PS: Cheeto, I also reworked those sounds you gave me and mixed them so they sound more clear and have a little more beef and the PPSh sound has a bit of an echo I cross-faded into it. IM me or email me tomorrow...err today if your interested.

As for the sounds, email em to me at logana@starband.net and I'll listen to em, but remember that it was a submachine gun, so when firing it would really be beefy as much as just make a popping noise.

wow very nice! that model is excellent. you might wanna fix the skin on the round back part though, it looks like the skin was mirrored, and it looks a bit repetative. otherwise, its awesome :)

Ok, I'm putting the finishing touches on the skins so a release is pending :)

Still could use some highlight on the very back of the reciever, the round part. How're those anims and sounds?

Oh, and folks, when he says 'Release pending', he means this. I'm changing methods so skinners who skin the Russian weapons can release em as they please, with final sounds and anims.

What is this gonna be replacing again? It'll be a nice change of pace from all the weapons that have been in the game.

This replaces the tommy gun and let me tell you....it makes it a hella fun experience to light up some Nazis with this baby :) Cheetos sound fits the model perfectly and you get an empowerment like I havent exprienced in DOD before. This gun truly is a sight and sound to behold :)

Release as soon as I get back from drinking night....if I remember that is :)

looks really good, i'll probably give it a test run. my only complaint is where the right hand is located. I can't speak for everyone here, but i was holding that mother, i'd have my thumb more towards the top of the weapon, and not at the side. looks painfull how he's holding it now. anyways, again nice work!

OH THANK MOTHERLOVING GOD this will replace the POS one i found only comment leave the fingered gloves on the skin and make the wood yellow or yellowish <My grandfather told me 7 out of 10 of em were issued with a Yellow color Kruschov claimed it was the only yellow the Nazi's would ever see of a russian soldier carrying it>

good work anderson :) whats the greasegun replacement again the 38 or 39 ?
