How do,

First ever firearm I've attempted to make and to be honest it fecking looks it. Only about 45 minutes work so far and Im in desperate need of tips/pointers/suggestions to make this look remotly useable.

Hopefully if i can get this to look half decent it will replace the webley. These were mainly used by the Canadians (i think) so i thought id have a go at making one.

Suggestions/Hints/Tips/Pointers very much welcome (I dont have a fecking clue what im doing to be honest lol)

This is definately a fine piece, as always Ska. I like the fact that it is quite clean. It makes for a great model. Keep up the good work.

ooooo even little screws in the frame?? you shouldnt have ;)

You'd be better off taking the screws out. To make the fram smoother, you should select all the polygons on the top and bottom then extrude 1 or 2. After you've done that, select the new vertices on the left side and move them back to make it more rounded. Do the same with the vertices on the right, except move then the opposite way.

ive taken the screws out cos they bumped up the polycount too much.

@ Mike, thanks for the tip. I was looking for a way to try and get rid of the really blocky look. Cheers

Looks very good Ska, cant wait to see it skinned and animated.

-edit- Does the grip seem kinda small or is it just the angle of the screenshot?

(Nice sig Gabagoo :D )

@ Genie, I thinks its the angle of the render but I'll have a go at making it bigger.

@ Gab, nope, its supposed to be a Smith and Wesson .455 service revolver but to be honest it does look a wee bit like a magnum lol

It's 1750 polys so far, gonna try and tart it up more. Here's a quick update pic.

Probally gonna need custom animations (any offers) I'm also looking for a mesher if anyone wants to volunteer lol

Comments/tips/suggestions welcome as always,

There's an error on the grip, you forgot to move the bottom vertices back.

Where? They should be moved back. I did optomise which did move some of the faces about on the handle but it looks right to me.

Don't think it'll really matter though to be honest as you wont be able to see the handle at all anyway.

Cheers for the tips earlier though mate, they were a great help.
