Here's the mesh for the metal parts. This texture is 480 x 471 on the model (mesh may need to be resized)

and here's the mesh for the wood. It's 476 x 442 on the model (resizing of the mesh may be required)

Anyone who wants to skin this please post your skins here or send them to me (contact info in my sig)

Looks to me like some of the mesh could do with more work, as from just looking at it, i think you will find some stretching going on. It might not matter though if you don't see these parts ingame. But if you use a checkerd temp texture when making the UV map, it's easy to spot the stretching, then just edit the UV map until the checkers are all square and neat. The other thing i've noticed is the polycount for this model could of be alot less, like 16 polygons making up the roundness of the nade would of been enough, where as 25 is really not necessary for an ingame model.

Does it matter? All you have to do is paste your wood texture onto the map and use free-transform to tilt it.

@ Marzy. This is my first ever scratch made model and mesh, im still learning. And i did not undesrstand a single word you jus said about the mesh lol

@ Brutalization. Read Mike's post lol

@ Strider. No one seemed to give a rats ass about it so i nbever bothered to release. Same goes for my bayo garand, dual mag grease gun and butt smack kar.

If you look at this image, you will see what i mean, the top part of the image shows an object that has been planner mapped. As you can see i've used a checkerd texture to make it easy for me to spot any stretching, and also helps me to correct the stretching. You can see in the top part of the image how stretched it is, and in the bottom part of the image you can see how i've edited the UV map to correct the stretching.

Hope it helps

ROFL!!

Negative comments? Are you stupid?! He was giving you tips.

09-14-2003, 05:16 PM
1. That wasn't criticism, if anything, it was a helpful hint. You should learn to distinguish between the two.

2. I criticize your works because they are half-assed. They don't look good, and yet you continue to hold yourself in the highest respect as a skinner.
