R3aveR and Wolf Kahler make some extremely valid points here.

Since when was it a requirement to post here only when you have some sort of picture to show for it. Last time I checked the heading didn't say "Works in Progress(pictures required)". Heck, the guy even apologized for not having something for us to look at.

Suspicion is one thing, but when you start acting on your suspicion in this type of manner it becomes something else: downright hostility to someone you have already deemed guilty.

Don't like spammers, fine. Nobody really likes spammers. But how many times has he replied to his posts compared to some other people here? How many posts has he put up at all? Doesn't look like that much to me.

And if he is mister x, does anyone really think they've scared him away? He'll just do it again, at least that's what alot here have been just assuming what with these "suspicions".

But...and apparently to alot of people here I'm going out on a limb with this one...WHAT IF he really is a sincere person who is honestly working on a Saving Private Ryan pack but is new at modeling so he doesn't have much to show right now and he's sorry for that? And WHAT IF his english is not exactly up to other people's standards because he is not from an English-speaking country(let's say like R3aveR and guess...swede=Sweden)? Then...then, you have committed something very terrible, something that has to be completely against the very nature and spirit of what this board, this community, stands for: SHARING AND ENCOURAGING one another to talk about, help, and put out some really awesome custom stuff for this game that we all know and love. And you'd have done it for a really dumb reason, because you had a "hunch" he was somehow misrepresenting himself. So many here have been complaining about why DoD MSA is dying or whatever, well here's a "hunch" for you: because alot of people here are into scaring new people off out of their own sense that somehow being at it longer than someone else gives them some sort of entitlement over the game.

Yes, you make a good point, but. i havent flamed this guy once. blame that on the other people who have posted here. i only want to be sure of what hes doing. i mean, okay, ill back off for now, and well' see what happens.

besides, the purpous of the WIP section is that you have something to show. its like an unwritten rule here. is it wrong not to post pictures? No. but it is kind of a let down, and keeps people wating on whatever it is being made. he can make all the promises he wants, but theres gotta be some result. if he needs help, thats what were here for, he can ask. most of us have a basic knowledge of this stuff, and, for the most part are more than willing to help.

Your attitude is exactly the kind of negative, paranoid stuff that keeps new people from posting.

Do you honestly think flaming someone like mr x is going to discourage him from not continuing to try to get back on? It would in fact have quite the opposite effect - you're giving him an impetus to keep doing what he is doing.

If you want to throw around suspicions and evidence, here's a couple of things for you to consider about swede then:

Q: Was he posting in the wrong forum?
A: Absolutely not. He said he was working on a Saving Private Ryan pack. This is(last time I checked and forgive me if I'm not as smart as you about picking up the obvious, Arsenal) the WORKS IN PROGRESS section.

Q: Is he spamming?
A: Depends on your definition of spamming. If putting up a thread that is relevant to what he says he is doing(no matter how far swede has gotten on it) is spamming, then you better put me on that list too, because I've done that(as has almost anyone who has released and/or had things in progress in MSA).

Q: Is what he (swede) has done so far against the forum rules?
A: Doesn't look like it to me. He had a works in progress, he started a thread about it. He certainly hasn't flamed anyone yet, and he started this thread in a graceful manner(he apologized for even starting a new one when people couldn't post to the original version of this thread).

Before you go condemning someone, you better not just be pretty sure about his or her guilt, you better be 100% SURE. Else you risk the chance that you might just might be wrong. And maybe you could care less if you are right or wrong because it doesn't affect you personally, guess what? It has a big affect on the person you could have mistakenly hurt, and frankly it is a sad day when we as people, as HUMAN BEINGS, stop caring about the effects our actions have on others.

Suspicions? No problem Russ. We all have our suspicions, it's just not practical to be without suspicions. Suspicions without action against the person you are suspicious of is ok. But this guilty until proven innocent treatment that some people here are giving swede, that's shameful and immature. Maybe some people here never got told the Golden Rule, and maybe it's time they learned it.

Reaver and your employee does have a point there but its also possible that he is mister x. As long as we don't have proof that he is mister x then I don't think we should be accusing him of anything. Many people around the world play dod and barely know how to speak english and since I agree with the others that it isn't a requirement to be able to speak english fluently to be able to be a part of this community, then we should just adjust. More people like swede will probably be coming to this community and we as long time players of this game should be the 1st to welcome them. btw sorry if my english isn't that good either. I'm also sorry if I offended anyone in my 1st post here :)

There isn't really much of a way to increase the amount of gore in DoD, since it's coded in that gibs aren't hardly ever shown at all. You'd have to hack the DLL's, or get Schlex's gore pack, run Sturmbots on a LAN server and turn on super gore, which is crazy. >:D
