I am in the process of modeling my first model and when coming to a part of the weapon I don't really have any pictures of I thought of this:
How about a thread that you could post requests of ref pics of the gun you are modeling and then everyone in the community would see it and then if they have a really good pic of that gun they could post it? Then there would be a thread for modellers to go to see pictures of good modelling ref pics of certain guns. Maybe if the thread gets really long someone could make a html page with a list of different guns and then u click on that hyperlink and it takes u to all the ref pics of that gun gathered for the community.
So for example I am trying to model a Colt Peacemaker and have ref pics of the guns profile but I need one of looking at the gun from the back to the front, so I can see how to model to cylinder (dunno what its called, the thing that holds the bullets). So if anyone has one that would be appreciated.
And the Idea? Yay or Nay?

how about instead of a request thread a request sub forum... oh wait we have one already.

Sorry for being a bit sarcastic, but tis a request forum for requesting things to do wtih models.youwill probably be told to go there so ask in there.
