Hey.
so time to tell how coldlines coming along.
Fixed/added in v2:
- added a town in the back ground, that allies must defend (working on it atm, no pics yet)
- Made the terrain more flat, whice makes it easier to move around, and lowers the r_speeds.
- Working on r_speeds lowering, in some places.
- Added 3 houses at the line, one of them is a allied spawn exit, and another is a axis spawn exit.
- Removed the tunnel network from front line to nebelwerfer.
- Changed objs (still working on them)
- Made some layout changes.
- Working on making the gameplay better.
Pictures:

Looks good up to pic 3, there are a few small SMALL SMALL SMALL texture misallignments also maybe you would consider putting some func illusionaries with a window texture there? Ive never seen windows without any frame whatsoever.

You're a fast poster :D
Anyways, well, about that thing yes i thoug about that, but it adds r_speeds, and i dont really have room for more, but ill try to see if i can add some more details.
Oh and the trees are standing abit to much together, im going to set them more diffrent, if you know what i am saying.

I like it, but one thing I didnt like about Coldline v1. It didnt have that trench warfare stalemate that was Bastonge. I'd like it to have more trench across the field type fighting, if you know what I mean.

Looks really good, I loved v1 :)

Yea i agree with badhawke id love to see more trench warfare, in the last version fighting seem to take place in the open fields and people would only use trench line to get to the field. I love how you put houses, i think i saw one in the middle of the map that will add some fighting over there. I saw the house where a trench goes into the house, on pic 1. Looks like trench goes under the house, might just be me or that doesnt look right. Im just curious about it i don't suggest changing it. However, as hawke and me mention we like more trench warfare maybe u could put a horizontal trench line on allies side on pic 1 right above the house on the hill. Let me add to that, what i mean is add a few fox holes and if u think it look good a trench line. Map looks great so far keep up the good work, let me know what u think of my suggestions.

why are some trees changed by the fog, but some look like normal? you know what I mean? Looks good, i enjoyed the last release.
Oh, and stoffer, do u play global warfare because i saw a Stoffer playing in a server

Don't randomize the trees, please. Trees in Bastogne are planted in rows.
Capt Winter

What u mean planted in rows, trees wernt planted, im sure u knew that but clarify what u meant.

One of the forests that was fought in during WW2 was a man made forest...forgot which one. I remember that from the history channel. :)

I think 1 and 2 both look great, but straight forward gameplay isn't that fun. Everytime I played this map it just ended up as a rifle/sniping war where noone would win. If the axis had an objective too, the gameplay would be better imo.

Well, I seem I won't play this as I didn't liked first version. It was too much frustrating trying to get thru field without being killed by "invisible" on dark trees walls Axis Kar98-ers. You should add trench system making possible to get on the other side without acting as practice target on open field.
PS. I hope that now Axis could not shoot right into spawn exits tunnels of Allies. After such thing I've decided not to play v1 map again. I was too much pissed off :(.

I think hes going for a realistic somewhat map, and not trying to be rude but trench battles all had no mans lands seperating one trench field from another, the field was littered with craters and bardwire.

Difference between RL and game is that in RL defences should be perfect but in game both sides should have a chance to win. In this case "Me on almost naked open field vs invisible Kar98 user = 100% sure death". I find nothing enjoying in such situation and I'm always leaving when coldline_v1 loads on server. My advice was to make this map IMHO playable.
This map looks like it'll be a lot of fun to play!!

Looks like you havnt understanded what i was saying, and why im mapping on it. BECAUSE THE GAMEPLAY SUCKS IN v1 (me thinks) And thats why im working on making it better, im doing my best, and i really enjoy playing v2.

usually it would be me and the germans killing allies at site, and cutting off virtually any hope of the allies getting to the objectives...

My god what a great idea, a foxhole model!?! Awesome I love it, I guess u just gotta make sure its clipped correctly. But does the foxhole actually go below the level of the terrain around it? From that angle it just looks like it rises up at the sides then goes down to the "real" ground where the snow texture is. But then that doesn't make any sense because you would dig into the ground not above it you know what I mean? I am guessing you took out the terrain where the model would go and kind of insert the model in right? Lookin good though, GJ.
