5th time I suggest you to read the mapping faq
All I can say is that you need a lot of patience.

Any map with embedded textures isn't able to be decompiled. It's usually a better idea to talk with the actual mapper about stuff they did in a map.

Quiet a few possibilities:
a The virus destroyes one hard drive and he had halflife installed on another
b A friend of his had tested it for him and there for he had it...
c It was a released map and alot servers had the file stored...

The list can go on forever... why think before you post ? :P

Just go to Google.com, and search for Bsp decompiler There should be several programs where you can use. ;)

I appologize for my previous post, i wasnt taking into account all those other possibilities, i just get a little defensive when i see people looking for compilers and i jump to the conclusion that they are going to decompile somebody elses map and then release it as like "dod_avalanche2" when all they have added is a few extra buildings/new sky or weather affects or something.

But i guess if it is for decompiling YOUR map, i will just have to beleive you.

-Again im sorry i jumped to that conclusion, i'm sure that the virus just took out your map and you are trying to get it back, and not decompile an official or somebody elses custom map. again sorry!!!

People who use decompiler progs are bad, because decompiler are bad, so you will get bad if you use one, so donīt use this programm, because it is bad for you, understood?! :D

Eagle you are a bad guy ;) Because you said the baaaad word... people donīt use this programm, you wonīt need a decompiler for your own map because you should save the rmf file... Also if you have lost your rmf, and used the decompiler you will have more than 100 Errors ins your map, brushes will get lost ....
So save rmf and you wonīt need such a programm!

There's absolutley nothing wrong with decompiling. There is something wrong with stealing from it or remaking a map you didn't make and doing it without permission then finding out you did bad but you are still remaking the map but changing the name because you think that will make it right.

well if he uses the prog for bad then hes gonna pay the consiquences and it'll be his own fault... giving out info isnt bad... its the ones who use that info for bad thats bad.

Ok

Good: Use this prog for your own map
Bad: Use this prog for stealing maps!
