Farewell...

It is time for me to retire.
Over the past couple of months, I have found it increasingly difficult to make and release sprites. The reason for this is that I no longer find sprite making as fun as I used to. Over the past year and a half, I have release somewhere near 35-40 sprites. These sprites have spanned two websites and 3 betas of DoD. I think that the great Xerent put it best when he said, "Every game becomes boring after a certain amount of time". This decision to retire has taken me quite some time. But, I fell that it is best to officially retire, rather than just fading off into oblivion. Who knows, maybe i'll come out of retirement and release some really nice sprites. But don't count on it. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my sprite making: Editor321, DoD EC, and especially the MSA community. Its because of you guys that I have continued making sprites for so long. Many times I would find that I was about to give up but then, I think about how happy the MSA community would be if I released that sprite. Thats what helps me to continue busting my ass.
On a lighter note... My website will get one last major update in the next few weeks. I'll keep you guys up to date. Also, I may put some new sprites on it, if I have the time and the will power.
So, it is for now, that I say so long MSA and farewell to the sprite making Cs42886. From now on, i'll just be browsing the forums just like everyone else.
I hope that you all have enjoyed my hard work to make the best custom sprites out there for DOD.
Farewell,
Cs42886:( :( :(
P.S. No resignation thread by me would ever not have one last sprite to go out on. So, here you go! Its a new grass hit sprite. Its nothing special, just some nice eye candy for DoD.

I'm sorry to hear you are retiring. Your sprites are excellent, and I greatly appreciate you busting your ass just so the community can have that little piece of eye candy that makes this game so great. I will miss seeing release threads featuring your new sprites, but good luck with whatever you move on to next.
Way to go out with dignity man,
-Rabid Whale
P.S. Very nice sprite by the way...

This is sad news! :(
Thanks for all your work you've released here, it's been greatly appreciated. Top quality sprites was always your focus, and that's what you always released.
Drop by now and then and say hi! :)

Your blood sprite is one of the best out there. Makes DoD so much more fun, ripping krauts to shreds with a BAR, truly a wonderful feeling. Well, good job, come back some day.
:( Good luck with everything! Hope to see you around...
And thanx for all! :)
GL man and nice sprite. :D

hate to see another one bite the dust man. Hope you find a way to re-energize yourself to contribute to the community again. I was sick for about 2 weeks and didnt do squat DOD or modeling or skinning related and found it to be the best thing. Sometimes a hiatus is a good thing and can lead to improving oneself. Okay, enough waxing philisophical on you all, good luck in all you do Cs.

Hmm, you can't just go out like this. We need to organize a special service on the DoDteam server, private, on a map of your choice, to give you a proper 21 gun salute.
I haven't used alot of your sprites for 1.0, but the blood sprite is the absolute best I have seen, and it's sad to see you retire. I'm glad you're still sticking around on the boards to offer your wisdom to others.

good bye threads are lame
Heyo cs~ long time no post in your thread.
Sorry to hear that you are retiring after making such great sprites. I understand that lack of motivation can stop what you loved doing, hell, i might not be a such enthusiastic DOD player anymore, but you can bet your bottom dollars (...or sprites :D ) that i will be keeping all the downloaded sprites that you made. Hope this retiring thing does not mean you are done visiting the forum. Stick around, who knows if a new sprite creator wants the advice from your experienced self. Love your sprites man
