Could you describe the problem a bit more, like what happens when you try to compile? Are you running Windows XP? (If you are, the command prompt is quite limited.) Do you have MSN Messenger? I think I can help you more in real-time. My email is rabid_whale@yahoo.com I hope I can help.

Ok,
I decompile the model...
I rotate the helmet slightly and assign it to the head bone...
Then I move the pack up, and assign to spine bone3...
I insure that the file this is all in is C:\Brit\
When In make the nessesary qc. changes, ie, file location...I then move the qc. to the studiomdl compilier...
I flashes up for a few secs, then nothing else happens.,..

You need to run studiomdl.exe through the command prompt. Go to Start, Run, and type "command" (without the quotes) in the box. Navigate to the directory with studiomdl.exe and the .QC file, type "studiomdl brit-inf" (again without the quotes) and hit enter. The model should compile correctly. And just a side note: I don't think the helmet and pack need to be reassigned to the bones just because they were moved (I've never needed to reassign them). I hope this solves your problem.

By navigate you mean type the file directory...
ie
C:\brit
when I do type this, i get an error...

So, are you running Windows XP? If you are, just put the .QC file and studiomd.exe into the C: drive. The fastest way to get to the C: drive it to type "cd.." (no quotes) and hit enter, then type "cd.." and hit enter again. You should now be in drive C: and ready to run studiomdl (this is the work around I discovered).

I'm experiencing a similar problem, meng.
When I compile my axis-inf.qc (using studiomdl in the command prompt), StudioMDL grabs a truck load of SMD files, then I get the following error message:
"***ERROR*** oomload/stand_pschreck_zoomload.smd doesn't exist"
It certainly does exist .. both in the QC file and in my model's decompiled directory.
I'm using XP. I'm able to compile axis-infT.qc without an error.
And, like Canuck, I'm only adjusting the head gear on player models.
As an alternative compiler, Milkshape is not working any better.
Suggestions?
