Would it be possible? So it could be something like OFP, where could can see your shoulders/legs while running/etc.
Ive never played OFP do you mean like when you look down you would see ur legs moving?

Not possible, when you look down it's not like your hands go down, it's the whole model that goes down. It's a cool Idea but it doesn't work.

they should just make some kind of fps where the camera is in the player models eyes so it would look like you have a body.

No, if you see in the model your body would keep disappearing every so often. I hope it's possible to do this in HL2, I have looking over at a ledge to see "Look! I'm a floating pair of arms and a gun! Hooray!"

In Breed, you see your legs and your hands grab the rungs of ladders when you climb. It is possible. I think this was even done in an HL mod at one point. It just takes code, and code's impossible, right?
Right.
It's not possible in DoD because it's not coded in, though I'd like it to be.
Tribes does this. It's quite a neat effect.

OFP does this. The camera is simply attached to the model. That way you get perfect origins for the weapons, realistic bob and weapon sway (especially when the model's animated with motion capture).

One of the most underrated games of all time had this: Trespasser. An amazing game, years ahead of its time. :)

The only good thing about tresspasser is that you could look down and see your own cleavage. Not that it was nicely done cleavage, but still cleavage.

When the game came out it was horrible, it got awful reviews because no one had the hardware to run it decent. Now if you go back and play it, it's actually a very enjoyable and ambient experience. It's a classic. Amazing game, why yes...yes it is!
It was also a milestone in game history. It was the first game to ever use a realistic physics model. It was also one of the first games where you could pick up anything within reason (that you could pick with one arm in real life); rocks, boards, sticks, pieces of metal, baseball bats, basketballs. You could even stack objects to create makeshift staircases or to give you a boost up.
It was also the first game to have no user interface blocking the screen, thus leading to a more immersive experience. You checked a tattoo on your body to see how your health was. You didn't just run over objects and automatically pick them up, you had to control your arm and hand to move to the object and then pick it up.
This lead to terrifyingly close near-death experiences in-game, where you'd be out of ammo, run to a gun and struggle to pick it up while you were being chased by Raptors.
You have to admit that the game, whether or not you like it, paved the way for a lot of the things we have today in FPS games, concerning physics and realism.

Trespasser wasn't the worst game ever but it was very very hard to get into for several reason:
1) Controlling your own bloody arm required a manual for the first few goes
2) Aiming a gun was one of the hardest things to do. The only time i ever killed anything was when iwas on a high place and in no danger so could take time to aim or I was toe to toe with them and couldn't miss
3) Muzzle flashes were so bloody bright of automatic weapons liek the Uzi you couldn't see ****.
However it was also a good game for several reason:
1) Novelty idea for the health bar
2) Loads of guns, and i mean LOADS
3) If you've got a good enough PC its a very beautiful game
4) its got dinosaurs in it! lol
And what was the hardest thing in this game? Was it killing a T Rex? No. Was it surviving wave after wave of Raptors? No. it was trying to dial a number on any type of keypad lol

Ska SO TRUE! Haha :D
I didn't mind the difficulty controlling the arm and such, because I attribute it to the fact that this woman had never fired a gun before, plus she broke her other arm in the crash in the opening cutscene, so it wouldn't be that easy to aim a heavy gun with only one arm to steady it! :D So it didn't bother me at all.

Oh, her other arm is broken? that makes sense now lol sorry, ive only played the 2 level/stage demo lol
Can you imagine if you had to control both arms that way, how hard would that game be then? lol
