Adding a Weapon to a model

HLMV... great program btw.

Is there a way to add and weapon in the hands of the model you 've picked?

Axis para with a Bar? So on and so forth... I am able to show the models just can't show them holding it. Am I doing soemthing wrong or this just isn't possible... Perhaps a link with instructions on how to?

Thanks in advance.

HLMV can only view 1 model at a time as far as i know, if you want multiple models positioned a certain way youll prolly need a modeling program.

Well, if you are going for a render, you can always add the weapons as submodels of the player model. Just add a another body group with the name "weapon" and use the reference files from the p_models as the submodels. It works on the Counter-Strike player models, so it should work on the DoD ones as well. I can give you step by step instructions if you need them, but I won't be back until this evening, so you'll have to wait until then.

Alright, I'm writing the tutorial now, and I'll post it in its own thread as soon as I'm done. Since I plan to include pictures and explain everything, I'll finish it up tomorrow morning.

There's an idea for Trp. Jed's hacked version of HLMV. Make it actually possible to select and display P_models in the hands of player models.

Thanks for help all...
Just thought it'd be a good idea to show... if not for Sig's and other Art oriented stuff but, to show your weapon model you created in the hands of the actual model.

I too would love to see those instructions myself...Thanks in advance

gj.

Here is the tutorial. I ran into a few unforseen problems along the way, and I am designing a web page, so this took longer than I initially thought. Before I post this in its own thread, however, I want to make sure the directions are easy enough to understand, so download the three page tutorial and try it out! :)
