It's somewhat difficult depending on factors such as animation timing, bone assignments, etc.
There are numerous resources, look at the FAQ sticky, do some searches, the answers are out there. If you still cant get it PM me and I'll try and help.
come on you two, we were all new to MSA'ing at one time, cut him some slack

I'm too tired to do it now but tomorrow I'll knock up a quick tutorial for you and slap it on here.
Its not very hard at all but please make sure you have a decompiler, the newest version of Studiomdl and Half Life Model Viewer and are familar with these programs.

Actually, I found a CS Thompson 1930's model with the circular clip and just replaced the skin with the one used regularly. It works perfectly, no complicated decompiling or all that rot.
Granted... that worked for that one model. But just try it. It's worth a try anyways. :)

I tried to use this model as a carbine replacement a long time ago, and it work perfectly except the reload was about a second or two off (the reloading animation would finish, but the bullets wouldn't be reloaded into the magazine sprite, thus you couldn't fire the weapon when the reload was "finished.")

He's got a point, this thread's title sucks.
But don't badmouth CS, they've got some INCREDIBLE weapon modelers and animators, but DoD clearly has the player modeling talent, attention to detail, and sound ability.

EXACTLY.
Remember that mg42 for cs that has like, 10,000 poly's? Now THAT needs a conversion
Don't CS models usual mess up after they're converted? Could have just been the dualies for the greasegun model I tried to edit.. all I know is that it ended in disaster after trying to edit the .qc file.

I think it was already done, it didn't look that spectacular... more like hugely inneficient. It looks about the same as the default MG42 except its got like 9k more polies because it doesn't use transparent textures. Instead it just models everything in the gun, and doesn't remove backfaces.
