dod_Taishoujima_b3!

08-12-2003, 07:42 PM
Hi all.
dod_Taishoujima_b3 was completed!

-The improved part-
1: certain amount of r_speeds(not enough. sry)
2: The other side of a bridge was made with One building.
(waldo taught this idea.thanks god your idea was very good)
3: Some entities were erased.

-The current problem-
1: It is necessary to improve r_speeds more.
2: model disappears(?)

I'm going to try these problems.
Thank you for the many suggestion who gave the opinion before.

2: Click on the entity tool in the toolbar, then click in the 3D view where you want your model to be (that way the Center of the model will never be inside a brush -which is the cause of this problem).

but he might also be talking about how models disappear ingame if VIS blocks out the model origin...

If the bridge was wood it could break like that, as stone, I doubt it too.

This map is a great start, it'd be nice if there was a whole town before it that you had to fight through. Better as a SP map IMO. Still good stuff.

thx for suggestions.

I checked some models. And their fixed.
But model disappears suddenly...
There is much quantity of model??

And
The bridge is all made into func_wall.
That is can't processing to any form.
so I want it is how returns to usual brush?
and water brush.
It is better to divide that brush into some?
tell me plz ;;

RA7.I fixed that water "ends".

taishouji, the models disappear because their "origin" gets blocked. This is difficult to fix and to explain. When you place a model in the "X/Y/Z" views you will see an "x" in the model entity. This is the origin of the model. If it gets blocked from view, then the entire model is stopped from rendering.

I don't know how good your English is, I can write you a PM in Japanese if you'd like. Would that work better for you?

Some official maps have the "dissapearing model" problem.

Its no big problem, you can sort stuff like that out by turning some of the brushes that are BETWEEN the PLAYER and the MODEL into FUNC_WALL.

just an idea:
for the bridge, turn those rectangles that are sticking out into wooden planks.
