Sound question for maps...

Ok,
Dumb question, but how do you make a sound, i.e. chicken chirping, fire burning, etc., in a map so that when players use the infamous stopsound in their console during game play it doesn't stop the sound???

the entity ambient_generic

Ty,
I know what ambient_generic does and it's what you use to put sounds into a map, I just can't figure out how to make it or what you have to do to the entity properties so that the sound does not get turned off, is always on, even after someone uses the stopsound console command.

example:
In the map dod_flugplatz, if you use stopsound to turn off ambience, you can still hear the burning effects of the fire up in the Axis sniper spot, on the rightside of the map.

ok this isnt ment to be a flame towards you and i know starting is
hard but this forum is cluttering with topics about people asking questions that can EASYILY be found if you read a tut over at
valve- collective or one of the the other sites

im gona make a Question and answere thread and get it sticky
were all questions about mapping can be asked instead of 100 diffrent small threads

Did, done, and have read tutorials!!! I'm stuck and wouldn't have posted here unless. It's not a beginner question, I know about sounds and the ambient_generic entity. What I'm asking is how to keep it from turning off when someone uses the stopsound console command, I've tried everything and have come to a standstill.

This is meant as a flame, but if you don't have anything good to say then don't say it at all!!!!

As a Super Moderator u should read before making such commentaries. There is plenty of kids that destroyed the suggestions area with this tatic(shoot before, read later). You have power, so u must give the example... It hurts people who take time writing, and love the community so much like u.

Its a good question(the original), im curious but cant help...

I tried the stopsound command on that map and walked around.

All sounds had stopped, I couuldn't find a burning fire sound that was playing. Saying that I'm not to sure I found the Axis sniper spot on the right

The only sounds that worked were ones that were trigged, like the Gas sound as you approch the enermy spawns.

When players use the command stopsound I think they want all the sounds to stop :o you can't just punish them because they want to use that command again

I'd only have mercy for those who use stopsound if it truely stopped all sound, not just ambient sounds. (i.e. footsteps, guns too.)

That's what "nosound 1" is for.
