Problems with HLMV

Wondering if any of you know why my HLMV suddenly started showing everything as overly contrased and such. It makes everything look horribly smeared and blotchy.
Here's a picture of how it's making things look:

It just started doing this recently, and it's really annoying. My contrast and everything is fine except for what it shows in the HLMV. I've tried adjusting my contrast/brightness/gamma in display properties, but it doesn't help.
If anyone knows how to fix this I'd appreciate it. I tried reinstalling HLMV and everything. :(

How many bit is your desktop colour quality set at, if its set on low quality it can make things look pants.
Just noticed the same thing. It reduces the bitdepth of the textures or something. It's only in the new HLMV (I think).

Oh thank god it's not just me! :D
So it's the new version of HLMV with those new features that does it? Or is it the new one released from Valve ERC?
And Marzy - It was set to 32bit. I tried 16bit just to see if that helped, but it didn't.

I could be the resampling code where it loads the bitmap into OpenGL texture memory.
Part of the code checks that the image fits withing the 512x512 limit and if the texture doesn't fit to a power of 2, scales it up using filtering.
Thats what I discovered causes textures to look a little blurry in HLMV because they get scaled and hence stretched.
As for the differences in Valves HLMV, I cant comment on what changes they may of made to the code for generating textures but I've looked at mine and its not doing it.

Okay, I downgraded my HLMV to v1.24 (http://www.valve-erc.com/cgi-bin/files.pl?folder=/resources/&filename=hlmviewer12.zip) and it fixed that problem. So if you can live without some of the features of 1.25, this'll fix you. :)

Isn't the current non-value hacked version of HLMV 1.25 at the chumblasoft website?

I'm not sure, but I had a hacked v1.25, so I just reverted to 1.24 off of Valve-ERC.
Can I have the link for the HLMV off VERC?

IMO if you already have the regular HLMV 1.25, you notice that when you are replacing the .exe that the sizes are different. The .exe for the 1.24 HLMV is the same size as the new .exe
the old version is 1.24, thats the one i downgraded to....
