editting the fgd

Hi there, I was wondering if I could edit the fgd manually to add the key: "name" to the info_doddetect entity so I have more then one of these. and if I could, would it be perfectly useable and will it work for dod? Thanks a lot

ok, the simple answer is no. if you want multiple info_doddetects you need to use a master to trun them on/off and restart the round fomr what I've figured out.

the long answer: No, a .fgd is a go between file. A .fgd is just a list for Hammer of what the code in HL can do. You cannot make up a new entity out of previous classes or anything like that because it wouldn't be recognized in the HL code. if an info_doddetect dosn't have the "name" attribute then the code wouldn't handel it.

AB, do ya think u would need to change ur fdg when 1.1 comes out, jus wondering??

Waldo said he would work mine in, IE the 1.1 fgd will be better than the 1.0

if they changed anything dramatic in 1.1 then I'll change it of course.
