are there any *good* pacific theatre maps and servers that play em?

Your need a japanese nation to have asian maps, not alone good jungle textures to make the maps. To answer ur question there are no pacific maps.

DoD is a ETO WW2 game. Sometimes there are Africa based maps, but JTO maps don't really fit with the game. There are other mods/games out there you can try based on WW2...er I think there are mods on JTO...any of them actually done yet?

There's Shores of Victory... www.shoresofvictory.com ... It's a WWII Pacific Theater mod, but it hasn't been released yet. Also there was another one called Rising Sun... www.risingsunmod.com ... but the website has been down for a long time, I don't know if they have a new address or it's just dead...

i'm working on a pacific theatre map, the japs and the germans exchanged both a bataljon ^^ so did the us marine corps with a ranger bataljon, and they wille be fighting :) it doesn't always need to be historically correct ^^

Rising Sun is the title for the console game, Pacific Assault is what they're calling the PC one, but it's exactly the same. Oh, and winters, just because we don't have PTO resources doesn't mean it can't be done. Remember before DoD went retail and we had Americans in caen?

Yea i know it could be done, iv thought of making an iwo jima map, but the atmosphere of jap vrs americans in pacific won't be there, im not saying a german team on pacific map will be bad. Id still play it.

Ok, as I was a part of the rising sun mod team I will clear up everything.

Rising Sun and Shores of Victory beame the same mod after a merge of the two dev teams. The new team decided to change the name when Medal of Honor: Rising sun was announced. But, the team split after a while based on different ideas of how the mod should be developed, what features should be included, etc.

So now Shores of Victory is being worked on for release on Half-Life sometime within the next few months, and Midway to Victory(from the original Rising Sun team) is in development for Half-Life 2 www.Midwaytovictory.com www.shoresofvictory.com
