Hi Folks


Just a little preview for you about my new map. It's a fairly small (well its quite big but enclosed if you get what i mean) city map.

Oh No Not Another Generic City Flag Map!

DOD_Zug
October 1944

German Paratroopers are fiercely defending a key town on the German border. An Allied attack is planned but the German supply
routes need to be severed. As an Allied strike force moves in...so does the weather.

Allied Objectives:
- Disable the King Tiger Transporter to block one end of the railway
- Sabotage a tunnel at the other end of the city, blocking that end
of the railway too.
- Destroy the German Radio Room/Observation Tower

Axis Objectives:
- Defend the Town for 15 minutes so reinforcements can be brought up

N.B I havnt implemented the last Allied objective yet, so there are only 2 obj icons on the screens

I've also made a new rain sound which is quite nice and atmospheric with some loud thunder cracks rolling out.

Hard to say.... but i'd hazard a guess around 75%

That looks very very nice! The first 4 screens show an amazing atmosphere. One thing, it says you have a rain sound...but it looks like its snowing in some screens. Good work so far! :D

Thats just the rain splashes with fog on. Hopefully 1.1 will fix that.

[Edit] And yes the allied half of the map bears a striking resemblence to Heutau. Thats where is ends though.

I do my pics in 4's for the people who dont have cable as i find it an effective way to get 4 pictures (which you can see a fair amount in) in the space of 1 normal picture. It also saves a fair amount of bandwidth, ive only uploaded 2 pics instead of 8, and for my site, thats all i want to do atm.

I dont have the large orginals on my HD as im pushed for space atm, ill get some more next compile

Thanks for the feedback so far. I took Heutau as my inspiration to start with, then got bored with it and added some unique objectives that I havnt seen anywhere before. This will probably get released after 1.1 , hopefully the rain fps hit issue will be fixed and maybe fog too.

this looks really great but please! please! please! make the axis attack! It's a lot more fun to defend with an m1 garand than with this lame kar. And you see this in every map. Allies attack, axis defend ... why oh why is this ... please, make the axis attack.

I did think about swapping the teams around. Might make it interesting but will require some extra work. Theres a good chance it will happen.

Axis Para's must take the town back. The radio room/observation tower is captured by chucking a grenade through the 2nd story window into the room or by launching a Bazooka/P'Schreck through said window. Blasting radios out of window and making the radio tower fall over glider style.

GL: It's looking quite nice, but I agree that it would be a lot better to see large screenshots...it's really hard to see detail with such small shots.

1. if heutau is your inspiration, then i am already a fan. Heutau is the MAN.
2. It looks SWEET. can't wait to play it, and i'm getting a server on sept. 5th, i'd love to put that in the rotation.
3. allies defend on kraftstoff. its GL's map, do what you want with it.

canu post a pic of hte overview map?!! i'm loving hte way it looks since it looks like it's more a a "realistic layout" with huge streets and porportioned houses which look extremely detailed.
if u guys ever played dod_meanstreets_b3 then you would know what im talking about. i love maps like these because they just get more depth since everything's realisticaly layed out and looks great.

that top right pic in the first pic reminds me of dod_heutau on some sort of weird way (the place between allied first flag and 2nd flag)

Any chance for a flag version for leagues? We don't use objevctive based maps on BFE.

This map will be objectives first. It will require serious work to change it into flags. I will see after ive released it whether it is worth remaking it for league play.

Added another set of pics to main post.

Theyre not as good as the others IMO but just to let you know its all built and im adding details now.

[Edit] and some more to make up the boring set. I think they add a bang to the map.
