its because u have the CLIP texture on an entity. and make sure every side of that brush has the CLIP texure.

What I can't figure out is whether or not by reading the error is if the error is on a) a brush, or b) an entity. If it's an entity, then how would I find through Hammer entity 200? I know how to find brush 200.

Thank you for the help everyone, I appreciate it!!!

ok entity 200 has only a clip brush or an origin brush. this means that you forgot to make a brush in the same entity with them.

to fix you simply add a normal world brush to the entity.

to find entity 200 go to the "map" menu and down to "go to brush number..." OR press Ctrl+Shift+G then in the box marked entity, type 200 and press the find button ro whatever it is.

Thank you Angry Beaver, but that's where I'm having the problem on the "Go To Brush Number" screen.

On the top you enter an entity number----200
Then on bottom enter brush number----0

No matter what I put for a number as the entity it always comes up with the message we all hate "That brush number does not exist"

In my Error when trying to compile it only gives me the entity number, 200, so what should I put for a brush number in order to find the sob.....?? lol

Thank you again for all the help!!!

well you have 2 options, both pains.

1) go into entity report and look at each brsuh entity one by one to see if its the problem , sucky and long I know.

2) replace every texture except origin and clip wiht a pure white or black. then go looking for every brush with either on, if its not the problem delete it. (make sure you don't save while doing this)

both involve cheking each brush by hand, but those are the ways to slim it down. do both if you want.

just replace all the CLIP textures with a normal texture (eg grass). or u could find the CLIP brushes and make sure they are not entities

I always have my special things like that in a VIS group. all my clip brushes are in one all ym models are. the second you get an error you cna strip the map to the world brushes and the problem and its sooo easy to work with.

If you can't find the brush your going to have to replace the clip/origin texture with something like pure black or white. then retexture a clip/origin brush save and compile untill you get the error again.
