It would be cool if someone could make the original '98 of the First World War. Many German soldiers were armed with the weapon at the outbreak of the Second war, especially Waffen SS units that came second to the Wehrmacht with regards to receiving new weapons. The main differences between the 1898 and the 98k are a straight bolt handle, a longer barrel, placement of the sling and different sights.

The originals were blued and probably re-blued for use in the Wehrmacht and SS, so this isn't a good template for a skin.

This one is missing the handguard, but it gives you a good idea about the size of this thing.
