I was working on my new (yet very very secret, hush hush) axis pack, and started cursing. The damn default models only have two body sets, so god forbid you'd want to make a skin that is only on the damn Unter, it shows up on everyone. And making the sniper unique? yeah, right.
Then I saw all these frickin cool-ass refrence pics of helmets and hats, and I know they are on some other models, but I cant get them off of those and onto the defaults, I was about ready to give up and do another sub-par reskin/color of like.....Dev's ss4 or something...but then thought to myself.
God dammit, Dev can do it, Trigger can do it....hell, why can't I? I want to become a major skinner/modeler in this community, my two allied reskins and my gun skins have garnered some fans, and If I learned to skin, than I can learn hacking/modeling. So I'm resigning myself to learn once and for all.
I'm reading all the tutorials that are stickied and am downloading Milkshape (No 3dsm for joe :( )
At first, I want to concentrate on taking off things, putting on new things from other models, making it so that I can have like...a new body mesh for the smg class and whatnot....maybe have 4 diffrent body meshes so models can get some more diversity.
Can anyone share some insight? Help me learn? I've only ever used Milkshape once, and I couldn't even make a 3d box....so I'm gonna need some help besides a bunch of tutorials. Any suggestions are welcome.
Also if you have any unreleased headgear, boots, or body meshes that I can somewhat easily attach to the default axis, please PM me, or if you feel brave, post them here. I'd like to get away with a hackjob for my first pack so that I can segway into full modeling.
Thanks...
