If your in spec mode and you move outside of the map... certain things will desapier... like entities and water... sometimes walls and and blocks and other certain things....

Is that a wall_toggle or what intiitie should I tie a wall or somehitng to increase w-poly...

its hard to explain... but y ou can really see it avalanche... move to spec mode and move outside of the sky limit and all of the middle debree will disapear... how is that done?

Thanks in advance,

-Eagle

Epoly and other entities dissapear when they aren't in the players Field of Vision (calculated in VIS) .

I don't worry about what spectators can/cannot see, since spectators are the scum of the earth! Map for players.

These brushes are tied to entity (func_wall) to decrease wpolys.
In fact, every brush touching another one will cut it. You can see the cut with gl_wireframe 1 (launch the map with this command: c:\sierra_half-life\hl.exe -game dod -console +gl_wireframe 1 +map yourmap).

When a brush "cuts" another, you have more polygons -> more wpolys.
What you need to know is that a brush-entity WON'T cut another touching brush.
That's why all the rubble (ie non-cubic brushes touching a lot af other brushes) are func_walls.

Look at the Hammer Help Files, type r_speeds in the Index, for more infos.

Remember to use NULL brushes, also; LARGE open areas in Half Life will run like crap on MOST computers.

put it on any face the player dosn't see. some people will tell you rules and things and they are right. but the best way to do it is to place it on any face a player dosnt see, in between brushes, round a corner the player can't walk round. everywhere like that!
