Hey guys I'm working on some skins etc. based on this pic but I have no idea what to name these. Clothskin helmet models for the stg44, mger and sniper. I'm about 90% done but I can't zip these guys or make a readme without naming them first.

Well, they are wearing the field grey panzer uniforms issued specifically to panzergrenader divisions. They're not ss, as you can see by the collar tabs and the heer eagle. The shoulder straps are black, but I don't know the significance of that, but the piping looks to be white, which probably means an infantry regiment.

I like the helmet it looks like one i made a long time ago....

Trigger: Hmmm..Trigger would you happen to know what the coats these guys are wearing are called? So that I could name them "_______ Panzer Grenadiers"

I don't know if they have a specific name, everywhere I've read about them simply refers to them as panzer uniforms.

Hmmm thanks for the help, I'm still thinking "_____ Panzer Grenadiers" :)

There's a listing of panzergrenadier divisions, you could pick from that if you're still stuck on a name.

Simple. Call it Panzergrenadier-Lehr Regiment 901; Barenton, August 1944. Don't worry about the long name. I did that with my volksgrenadier reskin (which I am working on a second more authentic version as we speak). PLEASE DON'T CALL THEM HORNY PANZER DIVISION PERVERTS. heh.

When you release this, could I use that jacket and edit it? I was going to make a Panzer-Aufklarungs-Abteilung 26; River Po, April 1945 skin. I've been messing around with making my own, but I can't get it to look nearly as good as yours.

Anyway, this looks great so far. Can't wait 'till you release 'em.

Yeah well i figured I'd use the name that's in the book with the pic you showed. I got that book so I just looked it up and thats my story. You know me, hardcore authenticity and whatnot.

So did this division actually look like my skin? If so then that is their name :)

Yeah I'd say so. You many want to make the uniform a tad greener, but outside of that, you've got it.

A quote from the book on that pic:

"This section first gunner is participating in the unsuccessful Operation Luttich counterattack, 7-8 August 1944, when his regiment was destroyed. He wears the M1940 special field-grey uniform issued to all Panzer-Lehr-Division troops not entitled to wear the black Panzer uniform. The dark green M1935 shoulder straps have grass-green branch-colour piping and stiched Gothic L for Lehr, and an NCO candidate's aluminum shoulder loops. The M1940 collar patches are also piped grass-green; rank is indicated by the M1940 left sleeve chevron. His M1942 helmet has the second pattern cover in M1931 splinter-pattern camoflauge. He wears M1939 blank leather infantry Y-straps, supporting on his belt an MG42 first gunner's spares pouch and P38 Walther pistol in a soft-shell holster."

And there you have it. I think it would be great if you went with that name.

Panzergrenadier-Lehr Regiment 901 it is. Thanks for all the help and info 8th guards. I was planning to release today but I found out that there was something wrong with the models so I have to ask Flammenwerfer, my regular model assemblyman to fix it :)
