sky's are listed in ../dod/gfx/env - those are groups of image files that make the cube of sky.
Use those names, minus the last two letters to change your maps sky
just draw a sky brush, a brush completly coverd in the "sky" texture and place and info_doddetect set a weather FX. compile and it should do the weater FX in all theory.

As AB said, the sky brush MUST have sky texture on all sides or it wont work....
Also, you must have gl_particlefx 2 to be able so it, I once forgot I had changed it to 1 and could for the love of God not understand why the freakin weathersystem didnt work.... :D
does the sky texture have to encompass the whole map or can the sky texture just be like this |''''| with the bottom empty, and plus my box is within a box and it is not connected to teh outside of the world...

Sky does not need to encompass the whole map.
You just need to use the sky to "seal" your map. This is only applicable if you have part of your map that is based “outside”. If you have just a bunch of rooms then you don’t need to use the sky at all, unless you have some windows :D
think of it this way, your making a corridor, wheter the corridor is inside or outside in needs a ceiling. when its inside you simply use an approraite texture. however if its outside you simply cover teh ceiling brush in the texture named "sky"
I figured it out. For the weather system to work, the sky texture cant be boxed in, the sky has to be physically outside of the map
