[SWIP] Text Death Sprites

I decided to make text death sprites for Day of Defeat in the style of Battlefield 1942. They were made to make it easier to tell what weapon someone was shot with, and to be a universal replacement for the death sprites. They have some bluriness around the edges, and if anyone knows how to get rid of it, I would appreciate the help; though the bluriness doesn't bother me much in game, so I doubt it will bother many of you. I'll attach a pic:

Those are cool, so if you have a custom weapon like a MP41 instead of 40 you can just change the number ;)

Could you make the sprites green and red for allied/axis weapons? White will blend in with some abckgrounds, but theres nothing red or green in DoD.

Use different shades for green and red for the test, so its different form the names. Just my thoughts.

I can add coloring if you like, and since I've already finished the white base, color coding the sprites won't be hard; and though the black line around the text blends in partially with the background, it is still readable against a bright texture.

I think it would look the best like that. Please do a release with it the way it is AND a colored version. That would be cool.

White text is hard to see against white walls, skies, and other whiteish textures.

Just a few things:
There is an outline around the text, and it is distinguishable against white backgrounds. The text does say STG-44; the bayonets are preceded by either Enfield or K-98; the grenades are listed as Stielhand, Mills, and Grenade; and the melee weapons are either Allied Knife, Fairbairn, Spade or Para Knife. I have the option of the skull being either Suicide or Killed, though I think Killed is better because artillery and other map extras shouldn't be counted as suicides. And finally, to colorize the text, I was considering giving the Axis text a light red tint, the American text a light green tint, the British text a light blue tint, and keeping Killed white.
I would love anymore suggestions, though, and I thank everyone for the input they have given me.

I decided to remove the dashes from the weapon names (the version with dashes will be available for those that want them), and I had another idea: I could color code the grenades (or even general classes of weapons) to a different color than the rest of the weapons for easier recoginition.

Devin, don't mean to be a nitpick but I think you card needs help. My foliage is green, I beleive yours should be too ;) ....possibly drivers... lol

And not that it covers much background, but I see alot of red Nazi flags/banners:D

I like the white text, but it seems the majority wants them changed, so you gotta go with that.

Expect these to be released by this weekend (possibly tomorrow or Friday, but don't count on it, I've got a lot of work to do, and I still have to test all of the weapons), in both color and my favorite, white.

The American knife is a k-bar, the para knife is a gravity knife, and I believe the German sniper uses an ss dagger, I didn't see that one in there.

I tried out the German Sniper, and like all of the other German Classes, he is armed with a field spade. I'll change the Axis Para Knife and the Allied Knife sprite.

I wouldnt mind white text with a black border. The key here is contrast. If it takes more than half a second to tell which gun was used to kill someone, its not worth doing, and picking small white text out against a lighter white background from 3 feet away isnt a half second worth, I guarantee.

Sorry, I was confused a bit there, the ka-bar is the marine knife, the Infantry knife, and the one in the game, is a 1943 M3 Trench Knife.

I lightly tinted the weapon text (except for neutral things like Killed). You can now tell if the weapon is initially Allied or Axis. I don't want the text to be the exact same color as the player names, but I think it looks pretty good like this:
