First Glimps of my New Map in progress...

Well, ive been working on this one for some time now and i tought i would be nice to show some screens. the map is still in the state of defolopment so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Map layout: Axis are located in a small village behind the normandy coastline, allies have landed and need to capture the village to advance towards Cherbourg.

Objectives Allies:
- Capture the Hotel to move up the spawn points.
- Destroy the 88s behind the village on the north side.

Objectives Axis:
- Defend The Hotel and 88s at all costs!

Are there any open fields, you mention normandy so id expect a few fields if not thats ok.

Did you look at the screens? Look at the last one, I'd call taht an open field. It could use some foliage in there, but so far looking good.

Yet another "Bomb the 88's map". Besides that: So far, so good. This looks like it could be made into an "Escort the truck/tank map".

Yea well besides blowing up 88s, you capture a hotel to advance your spawn. I love the idea of that. Nothing worse than having a map named dod_walkalot.

Your use of textures looks drap and dull, I love it! I know that sounds bad, but don't take it that way. It has a nice look. Lots of greys and browns.

Have a good 2 week holiday and show us some new screens when you get back.

I have agrea it looks really good. The destroy the 88s have been used alot, but I guess I shouldnt say to much about that. :D

it looks good but replace the 88's with shermans and make the axis attack :p that's more original then the idea you now have

- Ok, small update from a crappy PC near my Hotel

first of all, thank u all for all of ur comments. So basicly the map looks great, but u guys want me to come up with something more creative then the blow up the 88s. its pretty easy to make something else instead like tanks or a radiopost. but i could also try to come up with something else, like not blowing up the ...

which would u prefere:
1. blow up the 88s
2. blow up something else
3. do something else (fill in something here)

#3 ...maybe...capture a few germans so information can be beaten outta them ? make them like someone suggested for the POW map, using them as scientists to make them follow you. Have them in a bombed out hotel or something :D
