Low poly models (edited gabagoo's)

Hey guys, I noticed that gabagoo's low poly models are missing boots and the textures are a little funky, so i added boots tryied to align textures better, and made the overall model more human shaped, it weighs in at 196 polygons

the model needs to have its vertices assigned to bones

(i have no idea how to properly)

The sides of the body and the shoulders textures are stretched, i dunno how to fix that

and it needs to be compiled with animations

here is a pic

EDIT: i give credit to gabagoo fully so dont say i stole his work, if it wasnt for him this model wouldnt exist, thanks gab

here is a zip file containing the ms3d file i made that you see in the picture, the bmp texture and the qc file

I have no clue how to assign vertices without messing up the whole model and i cant fix the sides and shoulder textures so could "someone" assign the vertices and fix those sides and shoulders and compile? i will do the rest of the set and find a host for a pack of these

lol:D
you see teh reason i didnot make boots was because these arnt supposed ttto be stylish models just models to help ppl deal with low fps issues
but what ever floats your boat;)
its really easy to assign verticles just import the model into milkshape3D, on your top right hand corner you'll see a tab that says joints, click it. now check off show skeleton and click on for example bip01 l foot and select the verticles around that part of the skeleton and click assign do this to every part of the skeleton that isnt assigned yet. export it and your ready to go:)

sorry for the big paragraph :S

ok i aligned the vertices, somehow i didnt mess up, and the side and shoulder textures i cant seem to fix, but i cant compile i get an error called 7000.smd does not exist and then some other smd doesnt exist, i made sure the qc was right but it doesnt work, could you compile gab? pleeease lol

gabagoo

ok post the smd, qc, and bmp your using and what ever else your using and ill see whats wrong and try to compile it

Its up above the 3rd post, zip file with the qc and ms3d file and bmp

could u fix the side textures and shoulder textures and compile

gabagoo

ok first off you saved it as a MS3D :P you cant compile a HL model in that format. you must export it as a .SMD but be fore you can export it you must assign each verticle to a joint like i stated above. i will still help you out but i think its a good learning expirience if you would try and fix youself:)

I just dont want to mess it up and make u fix it lol, i would just like to know now how do i compile? thats all i need to learn, once u compile the sucker email it over when u can and ill try to find a host for a pack, well i can make a pack within the pack

your version of the low poly models and then my edited version

people can choose :p

4lis1k, im getting a host soon for the models, ive added all new skins and reduced the polys a little on the body, 176 polys instead of 196 polys and also, ive added a little low poly helmet on each player and made them as accurate looking towards the default models as possible (skin-wise) so that they look like a scaled down version of the defaults

patience until a link is up

gabagoo
07-14-2003, 12:16 PM

Guerilla

yea when you shoot someone in the head, a helmet appears, but the helmet stays on the model, its just beyond me how to make the helmet fall off

You know how the upper body of the model is seperate from the lower, how do i make it so that the upper and lower body are fused together so it doesnt look so damned odd?

you have to snap & weld verticles together but i think this might require the newly snapped together erts to be reassigned to joints

i'm not trying to start anything, but if you need models like that to run dod good, why do you even bother playing games?

To fix the helmet getting shot off but stays there you can rename your null.mdl file in the models folder to helmet.mdl or whatever the models name is. Now the helmet will not fall off. This is better since the helmet model that falls off is rather high poly compared to the player models and will help with fps issues.

Really yur wasting your time making these u could convert 3.1 model instead which are very low poly but still look decent and can run on anybodys comp.

your wasting your time just posting about other people's stuff, you can be coverting 3.1 models, but you still run decent and nice on anyone's comp
