Add -chart to command line of compile tools. Then it will show you all statistics.

Never seen the "reliable overflow" error, sorry.
But
If you think you have too many entities, just compile the map with the original Hammer compile tools. Preferably with a batch.
It will show you the maximum memory allowed for entities and it will give you the Entdata percentage.

Or...

In Hammer, go to Map -> Show Information
In this window you'll see two fields: PointEntities and SolidEntities.
Usually it's best to keep these two combined around 500 or fewer.

It's better for him to see the memory used by the entities.
A multi-manager uses more memory than a trigger_relay. In other words, you can have 400 trigger_relay, but not 400 multi-manager if you want to stay under the limit.
A map can have 800 entities. Wich kind of entities is the matter.

Anyway the reliable overflow does probably not come from there.
Give us more infos marianopicco, the log or a screenshot would be appreciated.
