Ok so, my hard drive still hasent gotten back to me, but i couldent stand not working on these so i got all my **** together and got back all my programs and stuff like that; and have been secretly working on these scince.

ive gotten pretty far, and im working diligently to get these finished. im also kind of a perfectionist so im taking alot of time to make them look their best.

i was lucky i sent these models to a freind of mine, or i would have never gotten any work done. there near completion, just have a few annoying compiling problems to work out and some model issues, but every class is pretty much done and everything skinned.

ive taken the liberty of reskinning everything on this pack. minus the pants and a few other minor things, but as you can see, ive skinned over the main body and helmets ,etc, etc.

ive got one huge picture for the WIP progress, but they dont show all the classes. ill just keep you guys waiting for the rest of the pictures. me and a buddy are going to go take some fashion photos. (no, not of me! of my models ;) )

Actually devin, i managed to compile them my self. i only say "compiling problems" because im still having this dissapearing face error, and i also wanted to see how you worked around the problem.


as for normal play.... paras first. then mabey ill make them for default play.

hey russ add a little more definition to the eyes. if u made the eyes more "sharp" and well defined like the default models it would be great. cause i like seeing hte "whites" of the enemy's eyes right before i blast him (or bfore I get blasted:rolleyes: )!!

well seeing the whites of thier eyes i dont think would have happened in life.

when you consider the shadow of the helmet, plus all the dirt and sut that gets on thier face, there isnt much white left. alot of times you couldent even see thier eyes.

ive got a few more faces in the works, ill post updates in a while..

the fat guy model was made by bobo_the_seal from the polycount boards. and yes, the skins i did make by myself.

russ, the new faces look a bit mushy/blurry. if you dont mind, post up the flats for the faces. i would like to see that rather then the dark HLMDL viewer pics.

Make 'em more aryan. Lighter skin maybe IMO.

alright, im not gonna finishe the faces. thats the best i can do with faces, and not enough people are liking them, so no more on that. ill just fix what i need to fix and release them.

yeah too bad the halflife engine doesn't emulate shadow properly, such as the shadow figures of the players, or shadow of the helmet covering your eyes!!! that would be so cool to have for the HL2 engine!!:D

i've never tried, but i can't see why not.

Possible? yes. Will it work? depends on what your going to define as work.

If you just want them to show up ingame, then yes, this will work, you will see some sort of Fallshermjager moving around. But it wont match the classes. The only way to make each class have a custom look to it (like the coats, different headgear, different body) is to set all the body, headgear, gear, and heads into one submodel (instead of breaking it all up into seperate peices) and then arrange them all in the gear submodel list, leaving body, headgear, and face submodels completly blank. So if you decompile, you wont find axis_para_body.smd, you will only 7 gear submodels, and if you open one, you see a complete soldier, not just his gear floating in midair.

SO the problem with renaming him, is that the first axis-para gear submodel is the mp40 stuff, and the first axis-inf gear submodel is the k98 model. SO if you dont mind seeing your k98 troops with loads of mp40 ammo, then these will work for you.

ANd lets not forget that the axis inf guy dont ahve an fg 42 class, and the axis-para do. It wont look right ingame, but its easy to fix.

Don't forget that the paratrooper only has one body sub group, but reg inf have six. That could result in everybody but the k98 having no body.

one thing im not goint to allow people to use is the faces. sorry, but i worked too long on em' for people to just 'use'. if you need different faces, just ask me, or make your own. as harsh as that may sound. :p
