what do you think about the ice cold freezing water by the bridge? is it a good color/transparency

tell me what u think....progress is coming along

White up the water and recude the transparency. Ice crystals in the water would stop it from being to clear.

Some bits seems a bit emtpy. it looks good for part done but lotsa clutter needed. and the rug in shot 2 is WAY over scaled. GJ looks great work on the clutter and it should be nice.

Some of the brush work looks a bit basic.

I'm guessing this is your first map...

REduce the brightness of your lights- do this by cliking on the colour button- then select a dark grey or something. That should do it.

But if this is just early work, better things are surley yet to come!

Keep it up, and good luck :)

Work on the roofs. Roofs just don't stop on the edge of a wall.

Before I started serious mapping, I made an entire snigle player Half Life campaign, for the sole purpose of learning how to map. As time progressed, experience and quality of work improved, and the last 2 maps I were, in my opinion as good looking as Poke 646.

I never released any of the maps (there were about 20 in all), and none will ever see the light of day, since most of them got lost when my Hard Drive crashed. Although a couple survived (my first map, the last one and a few others).

Besides, the trigger_changelevel entities were screwy (I could never change from more than one map).

If you want I'll see if I can find any pics to post to show how I've developed as a mapper...
