HELP! MoveWith has problems with func_train

Why dun u try it yrself and see.

Trains works okay alone.

But the objects that are supposed to movewith the train, ends up teleporting from path_corner to the other path_corner as the train reaches each path_corner.

Anyone here encounter this problem???

i agree, i suffer the same result. i tried to make an army of tanks move, the trains moved and the tanks stayed until the train got to the end then the models magically appear

Heck...there goes!!!

But how did dod_zalec do it then??? How would dod_zalec have moving tanks then?

Update fix for 1.1??? waldo waldo please do something...

Actually, if they made an env_model entity with health and hitboxes support, i would be pretty happy. Then, lemme animate everything manually, and i can twist and turn the model around this cool cool road, and the hitboxes will remain 100% accruate!!!. Should be pretty easy to code that, right? Hint...monster_generic code. Would also be perfect for other static models.

YOu dont understand the frustration of creating 90 entities, , 3 submodels out of an existing model, 4 model animations, func_breakable tied ups, only to realise that the stupid movewith train doesn't seem to work!#?#!? HELp, someone make it work!! HELPPEEEY!! Make it worth it!!

I think its a bug in Half Life, if you remember in single player Half Life, whenever you saw a monster like an Hgrunt (soldier) on a train, they appeared to move clippily. I think you'll just have to make a tank/whatever in Hammer using brushes.

Glidias, try to place the path_corner very close one from each other :)

Models just aren't meant to move with func_train in half life.

dont know anything about movewith

but im having a problem getting func_train to work properly

ive done func_train in other mods just dod is a little weird ive made the train and the path corners and all works well untill i acctually spawn then the train just teleports back the its original position and doesnt move anymore?

can any one help on this ? i want the func_train to always be moving......?

Neddy- its a random bug in HL which I've encountered in mapping for HL/other mods. I don't know how to fix it really...

Just try making different brush trains.. thats all I can think of.

ive tried over 10 times i believe. outo f those 10 times, it never worked right

"Stop spamming" means in every forum.

Try func_plat... with a NULL brush on the long bit.

Okay...i'm doing 256 units of space in between each other. But i dun think it work 'cause i tried a test map and the path corners were pretty close (256 units) between each other yet it teleports. Also, the func_train (which i made visible) actually is travelling in the opposite direction away from the path_corners, while the other movewith entities are teleporting from one path_corner to the next, so obviously its a bug.


I want movewith. A pure brush-based train wont do the trick. How then can u have destructable trains? Poor collapsed derailed animation gone to waste....!

Hope to get to see blizerieg entities released soon enough. Can u release the entities today?

PS. I am considering one thing for my map - will there moving platform with players work fine in multiplayer ?
