problem with sten model

when ur holding a sten it looks like your holding the gun under the barrel, but when you look at somebody with a sten they are holding the clip. when your holding it your hand should be holding the clip.

Wrong way round actually, when you use a sten you should hold it by the barrel sleeve, not the clip.

Holding by the clip can damage the magazine and also makes it prone to misfeeding causing stoppages.

Allready done, someone, who I don't remember off the top of my head, adjusted the hands to hold the clip. Search at the DOD Editing Center, It might be there.

War movies show ppl holding the sten by the mag cos it looks better, thats all, tho in saying that, it looks a bit stupid to me... IMHO

Wouldn't it at least be a bit cooler(tempature wise..) by holding it by the mag?

The reason why hes holding the cooling jacket rather than the magazine is, if he held the mag, it would most likely jam the gun due to poor design and crappyness of the sten. The mag was more loose then any other gun such as the MP40 or Thompson.

The cooling jacket wouldnt get hot at all so temperature is not an issue. Unless you have a 100 capacity mag and are outloading like there is no tomorrow non stop. The barrel got hot, not the jacket.

Kids these days...

Took the words outta my mou.....uhh fingers Canadian.

Try the Brit/Canadian Airborne by Jed. They come with the player animation fixed to hold it properly.

Question, anyone here ever fire a Sten? I can tell you it feels awkward and unbalanced if you try holding the mag and with controlled bursts heat on the barrel sleeve is not an issue.

Yes. And I was never allowed to hold it by the mag or feel the wrath of a rather burly Warrant Officer coming down on my neck. :(
