Looking for the "Last Airborne" set

There was a 101st airborne pack released just before b2.0 (I think it was 2.0, I know it was just before a major beta release) by Frightm@re. It was one of the best custom sets around, but it's success was short lived because with the new beta came new animations, and Frightm@re departed before ever updating them.

I'd like to get ahold of these models, if only for nostolgias sake, so if anybody still has these models in their libraries, or knows where or from whom I could get them, I would be deeply indebted to them.

No, these were I think the second paratrooper set ever made, even before there were actual paratroopers in the game. They had details like dogtags, grenades, and cigarettes. I know they were completely original textures, and they might have even been original models.

Here's a picture of the pack I'm looking for, somebody must have these guys on an old cd full of 1.3 custom models or sitting on their hard drive.

I saw that mod page too, I also found an old spanish dod fansite with that pic I showed, and a non-working link to the download. Anything on the web about Frigntm@re is at least a year old, and I've yet to find any contact information.

Here's the site where I found info about the set, if any spanish speakers could glean some info maybe it will help. You have to go about two thirds of the way down to find the right post, or you could just search the page for last airborne: http://dod.metropoliglobal.com/

Perhaps somebody that worked with him or knew him could ask him if he still has the models?

Who's the man? EH?

All I ask is that if you update them for 1.0, Let me know so I can get them.

Thanks a lot for the help, GeineD. I'll definately be working on getting these guys into the game, even if the increasing quality of custom models has dulled their splendor a bit.

On a completely unrelated note, what's the deal with your sig? Are you somehow connected to the plight of the American Natives?

One request I might add -- keep the cigarette in one of the Airborne model's mouths. It looks awesome.

I am almost full blooded native, And the fact that the government has yet to remove jackson from the 20$ bill is idiotic, So I put that there because a lot of people don't know to much about him and that hopefully sparks there intrest into researching it.

No problem, I'm glad your updating them.

i never knew about that -GeineD-

on a lighter note i was bored so i decided to make dogtags inspired by these models:cool:

*edit* the dogtags on these models were something like 900 polys  now thats just way too many polys for such a small detail. *edit*

I learned about Andrew Jackson in my history class recently (before summer broke)....he seemed like a mad, belligerent war lover, and was known for his vicious acts against the Native Americans and (not completely sure about this) the Mexicans in The Mexican war...

You know, never quite understood why he exactly was on the 20 dollar bill, he wasn't a good president, he was just a norm one with the battle records around his belly , just like most of the presidents in the past:)
*Edit- Yeah, also before the Trail of Tears that made the Native Americans flee and immigrate to the other areas of the country, there were blankets purposefully rigged with germs and bacterias... resulting in diseased deaths and many sick Native Americans....that's some sick sh*t, now i think imma burn every goddamn 20 dollar bills i see!!:D

omg i havent seen those models in years. i remember when the last airborne set was in porduction, but i lost track of it, and never found out if it was released or not. on top of that the DOD underground forums went stale and, like nobody posted there anymore... so several works i liked, i never got. some of vegeta the butchers work and frightmares.

and on a side note, hope i can help with the project trig. :)

You're missing the oval piece that snaps onto one of the metal beads so that it stays together. The connector piece.
