That's a good start.
The env_model has a 'Body' property. Set the appropriate number here, the number of the submodel can be found (and calculated) with hmlviewer.
PS: I hate the desert sky
thanks for the heads up on the submodel thing, ill give that a go
about the sky...
thats not going to be the sky that its going to end up with just the one that came up  i havnt even thought about the sky yet ;)

Neddy...
everyone always says that about skys. Personally, put in a sky that better fits with the setting, even if only temp. It helps a lot to see how the overall map will come out. Just a suggestion.

what he is talking about is that those tanks are British (UK) tanks but they have the American star, either have British tanks with british star or american tanks with american star, u cant have a mixture of the 2.
it is a nice looking map, but those red railings look a to bold, change them to a darker/ more suttle colour.
 i just picked that tank out of the models that are in dod

some more pics ive changed the sky now ;)
yeah good start, like the rubble and the tanks. Theres a thing in the faq that says you should only post a WIP thread if you are about 70% done, so next time do that ;). Looking good, the grass looks a bit flat but its ok.

thats not his fault. i don't know who made this model. maybe molotov_billy or agent orange?
and btw: there is nothing wrong with putting a british tank in a map if it is a US team map. the brit tanks often supported US troops.
anyway.
a fine looking map there! there are enough of those city maps. your map is something special. i like "outdoor" maps.
GJ!
plz dont use that red texture for the rails, it clashes with the entire rest of the map. Other than that nice job. you like you could produce some nice stuff.
other than that make sure you get objectives figured out. without them DOD isnt just quite DOD.
thanks for the replys :)
im changing that red now that so many people didnt like (tbh i didnt like it much either :) )
one other thing though, im using the valve hammer editor 3.5 beta and the newest dod fgd, so i am able to see the models and stuff in vhe, but i cant see the sprites ive used theres just an empty box there but only when ive got a model (tank, tree ect..) in the same map  the sprite does appear after compiling but just not in vhe
has anyone else had this problem or is it just me ?
I dunno. i could clearly see sprites in Hammer when I was testing my .fgd I tihnk it may jst be you. which is very weird. check your vid card drivers.

I have this problem too. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Just close and re-open Hammer fixes the problem for me.

just a little note here. the "body" in HLMV starts at 1, but in Hammer it starts at 0. so you have to change your body numbers accordingly. For example I like using the snow version of AngryBeaver's C-47 model, in HLMV it says body #3 but because Hammer starts at 0 I have to put "2" in the env_model body property.
[edit] and about the sprite thing, make sure you have the 3.5 exe (at least a copy, mine is Hammer35) in your Valve Hammer Editor directory, then just make a shortcut if you want to it. It should have the sprites properly then.

No, actually sprites are viewible in Hammer 3.4, works for me.
yeah 3.4 already had built in support for sprites. think about wha the point entity icons were, of course it had support for them.
