Helmet Problem: Bone assignment.....

06-27-2003, 07:04 AM
I was massing around with the player model and altering the helm a bit.
After i re-assign the helm to the bone( the head bone), i compile the model .......

But when i open up the HL viewer, I saw tat the helm was on its side, on top of the left shoulder....!!!!!
Did i assign the wrong bone? or was it something else?
Can anyone kindly enlighten me.....pls

I'll put a fiver on that you had your skeleton visible and did something like "select all" and "move".

Milkshape has a nasty habit of moving the bones too in the skeleton when moving groups and so on.

Easy fix (your lucky as its a helmet).

- Go to the Joints tab and delete the bone Bip01.
- Choose file import and import and SMD that has the skeleton in it such as body.smd.
- In the options box, choose to ONLY import the skeleton.
- Re-assign your helmet to the head bone.
- SAVE!
- Export as a reference SMD.
