Canuck here bringing you another British Replacement...

I had no refrence when making these, they are merely fictional, because their are very few records of SAS operations outside of Afirca...

Therefore I used Joe Anderson's new 2nd Commando set, reksinned it, to make it more SAS looking and viola, they look cool ingame, added Camo Face paint gloves and shinny new boots...

Credits are all in the ReadMe...

Enjoy...

Hey all,

I like alot seen as I love the SAS.

I reckon you should make the officer look like the SAS Officer from The Longest Day. Just a pair of trousers a wooly jumper and a backpack. Up the British!

Actually your not far wrong - if you go to the Airborne Museum in Aldershot they have small section dedicated to the SAS and have small display which shows a soilder dressed in such a manner.

The SAS wore, to most intents and purposes, the same sort of kit as the regular airborne and standard British battledress. There are several references to them being dressed this way (and photos) in various books on operations in France before D-Day.

One account said that they didn't try to hide their nationality in some instances simply because Germans would see them and not believe that there was British that far behind enemy lines and assumed it was their OWN side in disguise.

In other instance, on more subversive secret ops, they dressed almost like peasants or locals in battledress trousers and wool jumpers with just a belt order on - often to try and fit in and if captured pass themselves off as local resistance. Remember Hitler had a standing order than any member of the SAS caught was to be executed on sight and not taken prisoner.

They also used (even preferred) to use captured German weapons rather than their British ones. It was also common to use stolen German camoflauge smocks.

gj man...Nice to see my reworkings appearing on the forums:) I didnt see the part about the models being my reworkings and I was looking at the pics going....wait a minute.....then I read the readme and things are back to gravy:) I hope to have a Delisle Commando Carbine ready for all commando packs to replace the enfield and scoped enfield so we can get the complete experience no matter what skin set you use:)

Great job Mr. Strider. In light of what Jed has said, maybe someone should make a set of Axis weapons for the British to go with these skins. Might even have a go at it myself.

Or maybe when you're using these skins you could roleplay by picking up the axis guns any time you have the chance :)
